A Red, White and Blue Adventure
The author presents a riveting journey through the States with her trademark humour and light-hearted style of writing. As usual, there are many clever literary references and puns galore. She has a fresh and uniquely Indian perspective on the funny and not-so-funny sides of life in present day America.I found the reading experience to be quite immersive, which can be chalked up to the author's exceptional talent. I felt like I was right there with her, meeting fascinating people and exploring beautiful landscapes.I came away from this book with a deep desire to go visit America some day.Hoping the author continues her tenure in non-fiction writing.

Hilarious and unputdownable!
Written in funny and charming style, Khyrunnisa Ma’am’s Chuckle Merry Spin gives an insightful view into the everyday surprises (and struggles!) of visiting the U.S. It was also highly informative and helpful for me, as well as engrossing and absolutely hilarious to say the least! Through her entertaining travelogue, the author takes us along as they travel from one destination to other in the US meeting wonderful people along the way. Together with the author, I also met Gary, the cab driver, the lovely Sue & Larry of ‘The Atlas Waterfront Café’ and many other interesting people, who too have found a special place in my heart. To someone, like me, who has never visited the US, there were some things that came as a total surprise to me, such as the information that there are no public restrooms in Door County, something I would have never guessed otherwise. In a nutshell, the book had me chuckling all the while. I shall now keep those handy tips that the author so kindly shared in her book, when I visit the U.S sometime in my life.

A rib tickling satire ,a must read ...
Yet another rib tickling treat from the queen of satire Khyrunnisa A.The book is a travelogue where the author not just narrates her experiences but takes us along with her all across the U.S.When she goes close to the Niagra we get drenched, when she watches a Shakespeare an play we are just as thrilled.Unlike other travelogues ,along with serving as a guide for aspiring tourists, the book gives a real feel of the places and people . There is never a dull moment due to the author's characteristic witty narrative.Apart from the usual tourist spots we also get a glimpse of some quaint lesser known places which turn out to be hidden gems. Another interesting aspect of the book is that the author brings in her better half for a first person narrative whenever he ventures on an adventure on his own whether it is a midnight bathroom exploration or a railway expedition. What I liked best about the book however was a subtle portrayal of the affection and care with which a young couple work hard to gift the parents a memorable trip despite their hectic schedules. An absolute must read !!!!

Chuckling all across the U.S, with Khyrunnisa A.
To uproot yourselves from familiar scenes tothose otherwise is always coated withadventures and sometimes evenmisadventures. Either way, when humour isyour company, the journey is a blessing.Though the U.S is not that an unfamiliar placefor many, travelling with Khyrunnisa made thebook quite a wonderful read. Chicago, Neenah,Madison and Green Bay all wrapped in hilarity. Each time the Indian adoration for the freedomand ease in the global world comes flying in,there will be a pinch of the foreign flavour whichbalances the palette. For instance, whenever theprotagonist mentions the 'trust' in the U.S, Amarreminds her of the beep sound which will go ifyou step out of a store without paying or apublic library without checking out a book. LikeKhyrunnisa I would also love to shift theNeenah Public Library to my hometown. Theplus point on this veteran writer is that sheknows each of her characters so well, theybeing family, that she finds a way to work witwith their selves which makes us laugh. Andthat we can trace a sense of universality in theirparticularities is another plus. Also the renderingof the bleakest detail with humor requiresenough wit and wisdom, and Khyrunnisa bringsit in naturally. Even pages where V K was seenvomiting again and again were not short ofhumour. I loved the book. I also think that thiswitty travelogue has material fit enough for agraphic novel.

It's just WOW.....Rollng-on the-floor-laughing-out-loud WOW
CHUCKLE MERRY SPIN Us in the U.S. is yet another delightful read by Khyrunnisa ma'am.Ma'am's flair to whisk her readers to visualize and feel exactly what they had done on their debut trip is impeccable. Her minute observation of people, places and inanimate objects create such suspense and thrill that it hooks you to the book.It is definitely a ROLLER COSTER ride for the first timers - the ones who haven't had the chance to go to The U.S (yet), and a beautiful memoir for the ones who have spent their share of time in the country.Thank you dear ma'am...for yet another lovely book....

A fun filled jaunt through the US
Humour has always been the author Khyrunnisa’s forte. Her hugely popular books for children and adults are testimony to this . In ‘ Chuckle Merry Spin’, she takes the readers along with her ‘butter half’ VK, on a trip to the United States- their very first trip abroad. A delightful mix of travel writing and humour, this ‘ humourlogue’ will keep you chuckling out aloud. Adventures and misadventures are aplenty as the two self proclaimed Luddites explore cities, museums, gardens and parks across the US. Written with a keen eye for detail , the book also has excellent tips for a novice who lands in the US.
