Love the S22 Ultra
I have a Samsung Z fold 3 and that has just been a nightmare phone! It's had to go back to Samsung twice now for repairs. The hinge went, the screen broke and the screen protector cracked and lifted. I've only had that phone since September last year. I was at the stage where i was terrified to keep using it. Also the battery life was horrendous!! I have had all 3 fold phones and none of them were great! You think i would have learnt my lesson... As a result i decided to buy the S22 Ultra in burgundy. The phone itself is great. Decent weight, decent screen, and the usual Samsung bloat wear! Having used the phone for 2 days the battery life seems very good, unlike the fold phones! Overall I'm depressed I've had to spend another serious load of cash on another phone, but equally i do really love the handset. Also i have been able to claim the galaxy pro buds via this purchase. For those who have struggled with this claim the Samsung terms state that the phone much be sold/dispatched by Amazon and not a 3rd party seller. My phone was sold and despatched by Amazon so the claim went through in less than 24hrs.

Genuinely quite disappointed for a flagship
So I've come from a 3.5yr old mate 20pro, and to be honest, I'm a bit disappointed. OK so.... photos are quite good so that's the bit where there is a leap. The phone is quite slow switching between apps, it only has 8gb Ram, which is poor considering the 4yr old mate 20 Pro had the same. It lags when switching between apps quite often for me. This is big tech firms trimming spec on the flagships to try and keep the price lower and make more money, but you know what.... spending this much on a phone you expect it to be fast and a very good phone. I found out the 256gb version has more RAM after buying. Finger print reader isn't perfect, they'd be better off putting it on the side like some others do. The battery does last at least a day, which is positive. Battery charging can be fast if super charge is enabled else its quite slow. Its not a bad phone by any means, but I have to say, you can still buy a mate20 Pro for under £400 today, and to be honest I'd say that's a better buy, pound for pound, by far the best phone I ever had.... Further update, after 14months the usb-c port is now very sensitive and sometimes the phone doesn't charge. The issue is the port in the phone rather than the wire too.... always charged on a flat surface, never pulled or tugged. No point trying to claim warranty, been here before. Dropping further to 1 star now.

Great, except for the screen...
First the good. Samsung get a lot right - most things in fact. Great software and things that generally work. However, there are 2 things about this phone that would make me think twice about buying it (or other Samsung phones) again. And they are all screen related. 1. Fingerprint sensor location The fingerprint sensor is on the screen. This is here purely for Samsung to show off, but subsequently they are trading flare for functionality. It doesn't even work as well as the OnePlus sensor from years ago, because the OnePlus sensor isn't on the screen (it's on the back). This means that if you use a screen protector, the Samsung sensor probably won't work. 2. Screen hardness Unfortunately, as well, while the S22 U screen is made of gorilla glass, its Moh value is relatively low, meaning that, without the protector, it scratches REALLY easily. OnePlus screens (certainly older ones such as the OnePlus 2) are significantly harder. 3. Screen shape Another way Samsung shows off is with how their screens have curved edges. However, all this means is that the on-screen image gets distorted at the edge. What's the point of extra screen if that extra is poorer quality, diminishing the quality of the whole. Having lived with it for a while, I wouldn't not buy a curved screen, as it doesn't ruin the experience, but if the choice was between 2 identical phones except for the curved screen, the flat one would win hands down. Basically, Samsung is trying to show off, but I would prefer if they just did a good job.

Excellent phone!
At first after reading the reviews I was hesitant to purchase this phone until I saw a few other positive reviews and decided to go for it. I've had this phone for a few months now and I still haven't encountered an issue yet. Delivery was quite good and it arrived quick and safely. The phone appeared to be in excellent condition upon opening the box and everything was working very well. I originally had a Samsung s8+ which had lasted me a few years until I decided to upgrade to the s22 ultra and everything is better. Battery life is quite solid and lasts throughout the day without any kind of battery saver on, screen is very good and supports 120hz which was new to me as the s8+ did not have a 120hz screen, Its a fast phone and loads everything quickly and efficiently and in my experience, the camera was extremely good and it takes crisp and clear images. Other than that its quite a solid phone and does the job well.

Although I have bought a couple of Samsung phones for others in my family, this is my first. I was only looking for a decent-sized international version Android phone with dual SIM card capability, a good camera, and the ability to make and receive clear phone calls. But I was already impressed during the first ten minutes of setup where I had the option to not install about twenty apps which people call bloatware. So, zero bloatware on my phone! The camera and video settings on this phone are comparable to my DSLR cameras. Included is an S Pen if you feel like writing or drawing. The battery life is very good depending on how you use your phone. If you love photography, then I highly recommend the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G.
