Excellent product
At first I was reluctant to buy this due to the high cost and because some reviewers claimed it was noisy and had spillage problems. But after looking at several others, this seemed to be the best type of cat fountain out there and the seller's price was way lower than Hammacher Schlemmer so I decided to risk it.I'm VERY glad I did! This fountain works beautifully. It is NOT noisy as long as you keep the water level where it should be and I've had no spillage at all, probably because my cats drink "daintily" whereas I expect dogs might unintentionally slop water around. I would suggest this is probably better suited for cats or very small dogs.Cleaning it once a week is easy and quick and if you take a moment to pull apart the little pump, you'll find some gunk in the impeller chamber to remove (pet hair & probably some dirt). Keeping it clean is good for the life of the motor. The only "problem" we've had is getting used to the pleasant "burbling" sound in the kitchen with tends to make us think something's leaking somewhere. But we're adjusting quickly. My cats are happy to drink from this so I buy distilled water to avoid minerals & such which can cause bladder problems, especially for our male cat.I would recommend this to anyone!

Money saver! And great for your pet's health!
I highly recommend the pioneer pet teardrop fountain for your cats and dogs. Ever since I bought the main unit my cat drinks so much more water and it's better for their health. The filters that it requires are so easy to switch in and out and they are only required to be changed once a month. Though I do rinse out the fountain every two weeks. This four pack is going to be a money saver even though they're not that expensive to begin with and they're well worth the money. They're well made and of good quality I trust pioneer pet and I'm so happy that they put out these filters at such a reasonable price.

A great filter for some of the best pet fountains on the market!
I have three dogs and two cats, and two of the Pioneer Stainless Steel pet fountains: one large, and one small. The Large version is a community fountain that serves all five animals, while the small version is tucked away in a "safe" place for the cats to use when they want to get away from the dogs. I'm VERY happy with these fountains... I've used and thrown away countless other fountains over the past several years. These are extremely easy to clean, which means they are often cleaned daily. These filters have a long life and they're very cost effective, unlike filters for other brands. They're also rather foolproof to install and use.I've read where other reviewers have taken these apart and replaced both the floss and the carbon so that they could be reused, however based upon our use, I just don't see that as necessary. With regular cleaning, the filters last a long time and they're inexpensive, so why go to the trouble of remanufacturing them? I don't know that this would be a savings to me.

Continuously Filtered Water Ceramic Pet Drinking Fountain
The filter had to be replaced almost immediately, as the fountain was sold used, of which I was aware. Our 3 cats have been using it regularly, without problems. The filters are a monthly expense of $5-$10 per 3-pack, of which buyers should be aware before purchasing. The filters can be bought in larger multi-packs, which saves a bit of money. I'd think our cats would prefer the newer Drinkwell "Lotus" design or Drinkwell 360 even better since the water flows in the same manner as drinking fountains for people; sometimes our cats like to catch the water from the spigot in the sink. But this ceramic fountain is good, well built and it does the job. Mine was a Hammacher Schlemmer model, probably made by Pioneer, as the Pioneer filters are the kind it uses.

Good filters
I like these filters because they last a long time and my water. Fountain has a large reservoir. So I don't change the water every day or every week

These fit the Pioneer Pet water fountain, my cat drinks
These fit just right. Also, I was concerned that maybe these would "taste" funny and my cats would avoid the water but that's not the case, my cats drink just fine. Be sure to rinse these (and all new filters) for a few minutes before using.

Bought these many times
They fit in our cat's water fountain and they love drinking the water from it. I change these about once every 4-6 weeks.
