Love this Blu-Ray player.This model is compact and has a customizable start page where you can place your favorite streaming apps for faster access, instead of scrolling down a list of things you don't use to get to things you do use. My family streams videos more than watching disks, so streaming menus and performance are important and this one is great.It works quickly, smoothly and it was little effort to get it on my network and then it immediately wanted to download the update which went very quickly.We haven't noticed any issues with this blu-ray player and would recommend it to anyone else

It doesn't power off but, at the same time, it won't work either. No picture, won't eject, nothing. This is a recurring problem where I have to unplug it, wait a minute and plug it back in. Arrg.Update. I contacted Sony about the problem and they replaced it. It took about 10 days for the exchange, which I thought was a long time, but the replacement works flawlessly.I actually wish there were less apps to choose from as I'd like to help break my kids from the tv habit but I haven't found that player yet.

After my young son ripped the door off my previous Blu Ray player, I needed to find something a little smaller and more portable to hide up on top of the entertainment center. This player was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, and is easily placable almost anywhere. It does everything well, and I enjoy the wifi and smart functionality. My living room TV isn't a smart TV and it was nice to be able to toss the Roku and have a Blu Ray player that accomplishes the same thing as a media device.

I've had it for about 1 month. It hangs up with a black screen. Cannot play disc or watch Netflix. Power reset changes nothing. Holding the power switch down for several seconds, as recommended, does nothing.I called customer service at 1-888-222-7669. They told me to reset resolution by doing this: 1. Make sure HDMI cable is good and is plugged into monitor. 2. Turn on monitor and make sure there is power to the Sony unit (but don't turn it on). 2. Using the remote, press these buttons in this sequence: STOP, HOME, POP UP MENU.That got my unit working.But that is not the only problem this product has. It also has problems staying locked on the internet and often during movies it stops.It's not my IP because I have another system on the internet running that never has this problem. It also sometimes asks to set up the internet all over again (just ignore this).If you call customer service plan on spending around 45 minutes, get placed on hold half a dozen times, and explain in detail what you have done to troubleshoot the problem over a noisy telephone line to some folks in India. I could barely understand them. They will not connect you to the tech until you have done that.They will not allow you to return the unit for a refund without going through their process. They will not refund if what they tell you fixes the immediate problem. Why would you want to? Because it's one of an array of problems that occur with this product, and do you want to call customer service again? Ever?After this experience I will NEVER again buy any Sony product, ever.

Amazing product! I had a kindle fire tv stick at first but my router was to far away for it to get signal! I bought this instead because it had everything I wanted all in one (Blu Ray Player, Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, Youtube, etc.) all features work AMAZING! The only thing I dislike is the remote. It’s pretty cheap and has to be pointed directly at the DVD player in order for it to work! But other than that this is a MUST BUY great quality especially for the price!!!

This player has been heaven sent! I do not have time to schedule my life around programed shows, nor a computer to devote to streaming. I can now watch all my gifts of BluRay dvds and utilize my streaming subscriptions. Bonus is the remote will control the tv/off and volume. I just wish it could control the cable those few times I do flip over to that input. The box has unsynced a few times, but I just reset the system and it works well again. Very little stress.

I bought this just to play some dvd's on a projector and didn't realize that it would stream Netflix, Amazon, etc. so well. It will work with wifi, but you'll get less delay if you get a good cable and just plug it into the modem/hub directly. Takes a bit of getting used to and the instructions are fairly rubbish - they try to give you a lot of information in a few pages, but it really needs more than that. Mostly says "if you get the settings right" but doesn't say how to do that well. If you're using a cheap/older projector, you'll want to look at the most archaic/unusual setup option to get it working (we kept looking at the options and it took a few minutes to recognize the abbreviation). The navigation on the remote takes some getting used to as well. Love the "favorite" button and the "Netflix" button. The HDMI cable included was great, and partly why I chose this one over the other options - the primary reason was that it was on sale and appeared to be what I was after. Basically, if you're looking for a cheapo entertainment center, this plus a projector plus a handy wall works great. :) ***Update: after 1 year, it will not work on either wired or wireless connection. It is now just a dvd player. **

At first I was disappointed because I had no way of accessing Amazon Prime on this Blu-Ray player. I discovered that I could still watch Amazon Prime videos using a Amazon Fire Stick. that solved the problem and I will keep the Blu-Ray player.
