The Ultimate Laika Collection (Coraline / ParaNorman / The Boxtrolls / Kubo and the Two Strings)

My favorite movies. Worth getting it, I’m so happy.

I took my son, who is 5, to see Kubo in the theaters, and while he definitely liked it, I *loved* it. It is probably my favorite movie of 2016 so far. When I went to preorder Kubo on Blu-ray, this collection was only a few dollars more than Kubo by itself, so purchasing it was a no-brainer. That's no longer the case, as you're looking at about $20 extra vs. just the movie by itself. If you don't own the other titles, I still find this to be a strong value. Not only are you getting the movies on BR, but also digital copies on top of that, which is extremely convenient if you have kids and may need to entertain them with a phone, tablet, or computer (depending on where you are). Laika's movies all look stunning on blu-ray and again, if you haven't seen Kubo yet, it is an incredible film and it is a shame that it was overlooked at the theater this summer. The product comes in a nice steelcase design that holds all the discs quite well. I'd echo some of my fellow reviewers that I was hoping for a some more content on the Kubo disc itself, but I know that's not really the direction the industry is moving in at present. In summary, this was a much better deal and instant buy for me at $29, but at $45 I still think it is a great deal. That's $11.25 per movie, and you get them all both on disc and digital.

I'm not a movie critic and there's plenty of reviews on all 4 movies here and on IMDB so I'll make this short. Laika movies are very distinctive and great for just about all ages. I highly recommend watching their specials on how they made the movies. You'll be amazed at the skill and work that goes into these. My 4yr old loves Coraline and Kubo. Paranorman gets the occasional watch and Box Trolls didn't get the greatest reaction but we'll see how she comes around. This is a great way to get all 4 on digital. We had 2 already and just bought this since it was cheaper than buying the remaining 2 separately. We passed the extra codes to a friend. We don't even keep the discs out anymore when we have digital copies. We put those in a storage tub in the basement. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for some interesting animated movies.

This product works well. It is decent quality. It is good for what you are paying for. It is easy to maneuver around. There were no scratches or broken parts.

I LOVE STOP MOTION ANIMATION (SMA)! It's 3D, true colors, crisp and sharp, imaginative, and high skill in every respect that had me at first watch. I hope we never lose this remarkable art form. I am not going into each movie's details, but of the four stories, I like the "Box Troll's" the least--now this just means I LOVE it less than the others--I think it's the overall earth tone colors throughout the movie that wasn't appealing to my optics. Kuba, my favorable of the four, had the most vibrant colors. All four unique stories have happy endings. I think kids older than 10 would be able to follow each story line. Parents, please explain to your children how SMA are made, it really heightens their curiosity and their appreciation for this art form. Enjoy!

We love all these movies! I originally was just looking for Coraline for my kiddos, and found for $1 and some change more I can have 4 movie instead of just one! At $15 and some change, estimated I paid about $4/movie! Amazing deal all brand new in a sealed package! Hope to find more amazing deals like this for other movie collections in the future!

I got all four movies but I feel like the posting was misleading. It says on the picture “Digital Copy” but the ones that came with a digital copy code, it was expired and didn’t work. Coraline didn’t come with one at all. One of the main reasons I purchased this set was for the digital versions as well. It came as 4 separate blu ray cases which I didn’t mind but also doesn’t look like it would in the picture.
