Good all in one monitor! (yes, you can turn off temp display)
We have been using an Angelcare 1100 for over 5 years now so the AC517 was a welcome upgrade! The screen is easy to view and is pretty clear and the night vision is decent. We like that the movement monitor is integrated into the unit so we don’t have to rely on a separate piece that attaches to our child. Plus the technology had been reliable for us for over 9 years since we have been using Angelcare products for all of our children. One important note is that contrary to what other reviewers have said, you CAN TURN OFF the temperatures display on the camera. I attached a pic of the setting. So no annoying bright light if you do not want that feature for display. The parent unit still displays the temp. The touchscreen is not as sensitive as a cell phone or what society is used to so that is a slight downside. Also we wish the info bar would display all the time like our older model however we can appreciate how others may want the full screen view most of the time. The info bar shows up once the screen is pressed. If we could remove half a star we would.Overall we are happy with this monitor so far.

no night vision
UPDATE:So I contacted customer support by email about the night vision not working. They replied back promptly asking for the model and info off the back of the monitor. I gave them everything they asked for and they replied back stating they were sending me a replacment camera. it came to my house within a day! my husband hooked up the replacement camera and oh my goodness not only did the night vision work in a completely dark bedroom but the quality of the picture is so much better. I just had a bad camera. I am changing my stars from 3 to 5 because I am so pleased with this camera now and the customer service that i received.i bought this monitor due to so many rave reviews from my friends. I had a wifi cam before this one and it kept disconnecting in the middle of the night so i didn't trust it any longer.Pros:*nice portable parent monitor*battery life on the parent monitor lasts a long time. ( i mostly keep mine plugged in though unless i'm going to be walking around outside or in different rooms of the house)*great speaker quality. i can always hear my baby when he crys or even moves in his crib.*i haven't used the motion pad. i personally don't need it.Cons:*no night vision. i always have to turn on a lamp and it has to be close to the crib to be able to see him on the monitor at night. (this is very disappointing to me)

Great Monitor for the Price!
Angelcare monitor is a great monitor for the money. I got it on Amazon for the $199 price. The movement monitor gave me a piece of mind that if my baby stopped breathing the alarms would go off. Pros the monitor is 5", which is larger than some monitors . The menu is all touch screen which is nice at night. My previous monitor of another brand was not touch screen and it was hard to see the buttons in the middle of the night in the dark. The parents monitor has a nice stand to hold it up and the battery pack has a locking mechanism instead of a screw battery compartment which is nice. Although if you child gets a hold of it and figures how to open that they can get a hold of the battery, but the battery is big so they cannot swallow it. The kids camera is magnetic so it is easy to take off the stand if you need to hang on the wall. The camera came linked up to the parents monitor so setup was easier then my previous monitor . The camera does move or pan up and down and side to side. The only con I would say is maybe the battery compartment if you think your child could figure out how to open or if it breaks then your battery would come out. The only other con is that if you forget to mute the sensor pad when taking your child out of bed they the alarm will go off potentially waking your baby. Once you get used to the sensor pad and muting then it is not a problem. Overall I think it is a good monitor if you can get it for the $199 price.

Awesome monitor! No serious complaints
I ordered this for my son who was born in May and I am very happy. I agree with the other review that the night vision is not as clear as the color during the day-but it’s manageable. My only complaint is there isn’t a shortcut to turn off the breathing pad. If there is, please share!!! It is a pain to go to the settings, then the pad, the move the toggle to off, then save and do it all again after my son finishes his bottle. I can see my son at all times, I test the breathing pad regularly and it always sounds. I love being able to mount it on the wall too!I ordered one for my daughter because we had an older Angel Care breathing pad for her with wires attached and I wanted a wireless one-she found the wire! My daughter had RSV and the only way I got sleep was knowing if she had a breathing emergency I would be notified.I recommend Angel Care to all new parents! Plus it looks really clean in the nursery and isn’t bulky!

Gran compra.
Excelente producto y calidad, fácil de instalar. Mejor que otras marcas comerciales del mercado, el sensor se puede inactivar por si les molesta mucho, se puede cambiar la temperatura a grados centígrados en vez de farenheit.

Excellent audio and video..very easy to program the options on touch screen.
I bought this monitor for my husband who was a palliative cancer patient. We have a long house and both hard of hearing. I carried this monitor around to the kitchen when preparing meals, or on the lower level doing laundry. He was able to call me and I could also press the button on the monitor to let him know where I was. (audio both ways). Another great feature was the read out of the temperature in the room where the camera was positioned toward the bed. The resolution was good and in colour although decreased in quality with very low lighting. I did not use the motion pad. I found this product excellent. When using it in the living room where it was plugged in it was being fully charged while in use. However, I did not use the function of having it turn off the screen if no movement IE I kept the monitor screen ON all the time. With this setting the battery would last about 12 hours unplugged. It was a godsend to me caring for my husband at home. I would highly recommend this product.

Awesome picture
Second angelcare movement monitor I have owned and I love them! The picture is so clear on the parent unit. Baby is not here yet so have not used the sensor pad as of yet but have the camera set up in my 4 year olds room. Bought a second camera it connects quickly and very easy to use.

WAS Not working. Working now.
Edit: called customer support, turns out it was a defective power cable for the camera. Had to resynch the camera to the parent unit. Once paired, was prompted to set date/time and unit works. Haven't tested the breathing pad yet, but picture quality and sound is great. Mount for camera could be better though - a little awkward. Recieved this yesterday. Charged for the indicated 9 hours. Turning the unit on, the UI isn't responsive. I'm able to get to the settings menu, but cannot do anything at that. The instructions say that I should be prompted to set the date and time, however it doesn't happen. So disappointed.
