Pool Skimmer Shield Protective Spring Action Net System Leaf Protection, for Vinyl Lined or Fiberglass Pools Only White

I was a bit skeptical to purchase this as I think it's expensive, but it has been great at keeping stuff out of our skimmer basket. This helps the water flow and improves pump performance by a lot.My only issue is that pretty quickly the metal started rusting. I contacted the seller, and they said they've not seen that and they promptly sent me a replacement.So with the caveat that I hope the product doesn't rust, it is otherwise great. I'm really suprised more products like this don't exist--since it traps leaves and other garbage at the water line while still allowing the filter do its magic without the entrainment of all of the leaves.

Had high hopes for this as my pool gets pounded with leaves every day causing skimmer baskets to break from the pressure built from the accumulation of leaves. Leaves then make their way into the pump basket from the cracks on the skimmer basket. This is an every day occurrence for me.Unfortunately, while the product does stop a miniscule amount of leaves from going through, most still get around (I assume through the bottom) and the issue was not resolved at all. It's also really expensive for something that doesn't work. Might be useful for some pools, but did not help in my case at all.

This Leaf catcher worked perfectly. We were out of town for 10 days this spring when our live oak tree was shedding leaves and pollen pods. If we had not purchased this Pool Skimmer our pool pump would of shut down and cost of much more than $40 to replace the pump. I don't understand the reviews saying it didn't fit?? It's a wire that bends to fit any size skimmer opening. Great product. Highly recommend.

Likes: it works. Tried 4 different products off of Amazon but this one works at keeping the big leaves out of your skimmer. Even clogged with leaves, there’s still good flow into the skimmer.I use only when I travel or if it’s especially windy. So I can’t comment on durability. It’s super simple to set up/install. And easy to clean.

I've tried several other products to keep the leaves out of our skimmer, and they were flimsy and broke down quickly, this skimmer shield has a genius design and holds up to even the worst leaf storm! Bravo! The installation is quick and easy, and again - genius!

I was hoping to find something that would keep the leaves out of the skimmer basket. The mesh would work well, but fitting this into the skimmer opening required bending the shield to keep it from popping out. Once I got it to stay, then the leaves would collect on the side of the mesh and work into the skimmer basket. Although it reduced the leaves that made it into the skimmer, for the price it did not perform as expected.

We keep our pool open all year round, but the fall months are a bear! All the leaves from giant oak and maple trees around us continually clog the skimmer. I've tried all types of solutions, including covering the entire pool in netting (a huge hassle). Nothing really worked well, until I found this. So simple. Keeps leaves, seeds, everything out of the skimmers. They then sink to the bottom where my robot cleaner sucks them up. I have not found any impact on water flow after installing them. Yes, a little pricey for what they are, but well worth it for the peace of mind!

This product works very well at keeping debris out of the skimmer. The problem is the buildup of film, debris and partials on the screen. It gets thick quickly, so water cannot get through to the skimmer. My pump had an error of “no flow detected”. The water couldn’t get past the screen so it was impacting the flow of the pimp. So I do not recommend this product. It cannot be used for more than an hour without impacting the flow.
