I bought this because it was one of the few pickups that would fit the small sound hole on my acoustic bass. This pickup works very nicely with my bass and I get some very warm tones with some amp emulator circuitry. The clarity of tones is excellent. All the frequencies are very balanced with no need for equalization. When I use headphones, there is no audible hum. All I hear are the clear sounds coming from the bass. Lace repaired this pickup once and they did not charge me anything. They seem to stand behind what they sell. I bought the pickup used and I sent it in for repair as soon as I received it from the person that I bought it from on an auction site. If it ever wears out, I would purchase this item again.
