These bulb/ring combos have nice deep fluted bevels which are great for reducing glare if you look up at the ceiling where they are mounted. In spite of that they provided a nice wide distribution angle, so you don't get a lot of light variation on the surfaces they are pointed at. I use them in my kitchen and I am not seeing any shadowed areas on my counter tops. The color rendering for 2700K is a bit low (a bit too red), but the 3000K setting is closer to 2900K so they provide a nice bright warm tone to work under. The bulbs also have a nice dimming algorithm which keeps their color pretty consistent as the dimming is applied. Overall, there are cheaper ceiling lights out there, but the quality of these lights seems to be worth it.

Just installed this item. Highly recommend. It has good quality construction and it feels solid. My favorite part of the construction is the baffle is metal, the lights I had previous are plastic which actually is not great. The recessed baffle is a game changer. We previously had flat mounted lights and the light was just too much. Having the light source recessed makes it so it doesn’t feel like you’re getting a flashlight shined in your face. In the photos you can see the other brand and how it shines differently than this product. The dark photo shows the baffles on both products. The recessed baffle is better in my opinion. Definitely recommend this product.

The photo shows two of the eight LED lamps side by side. Both are set to 3000k but only the one on the right is correct. The left one is actually at 2700k color temp. The switch does not change the color temp correctly. Seven out of eight are fine but not that one. I got a replacement set. Pulling the sticky plastic saran wrap like coating off the housings is a bit of a pain and can leave a bit of residue here and there.The bulbs are recessed a bit more than the old lamps so that is a plus to cut glare from a side view as you approach the lamps. Aluminum frame vs the plastic housing of the old lamps is a plus too. I am using these with the TOPGREENER Kalide Dual Load Dimmer Light Switch that Amazon sells. They work okay with this. There is a bit of flicker as you're moving the slide but the light is pretty steady when you stop.Overall, despite everything I'm satisfied with these lights. I'll be even more satisfied if they last longer than the three years that some of the old bulbs did.My last experience with the Torchstar warranty was poor. They told me I had to mail back the defective bulb to get a replacement rendering the warranty useless. I've never had another light bulb vendor make such a demand.

Very easy to install, great light selections from very warm to very cold, at least five or six different types of light just by moving a switch. Highly recommended.

The Spring arms are only 4" apart. My can is 6" in diameter. The light will not snap in place, because the spring arms won't stay engaged. Returned for refund.

Love these lights. Perfect amount of lighting and like how you can select the color temp as we used 3000k in bathroom and 2700k in other areas. Quality of the baffle is also really good.

Works as expected works by staying in place by friction

I don't usually write reviews unless the product is really bad, or in this case really good. Trust me, I've used a number of these in the past in other houses i had and this time for my new house i wanted what i would consider to be the best. I did a lot of searching at Home Depot, Lowes, local lighting stores and online, then found this 8 pack on Amazon. Decided to try it but at about $8.50 each i was skeptical. When the box arrived i opened it and said wow, this looks just like what i want. I nice depth to the light (some are very shallow which makes it look cheap), and it is so darn easy to install these I could almost do it in my sleep. Seriously, I climb the latter, remove the old bulb, the the housing and put this new one in. Actually timed myself and each light took less than 3 minutes. Before I even got the first 8 in, I ordered another two boxes (16 total) and have now installed just about all of them. Keeping a few back for spares. I also love the fact that there is a switch on the back allowing you to change color temp from 2700 to 5000k. The only thing i don't know is how long these will actually last.
