Perfect!!! Great for thick for hair.

I’m so happy I found these! The first ones I bought years ago, was looking to buy a few more and they are not easy to find. I could not find them in any local shops and they’re even difficult to find online. I think any we find at this point in time may be the last remaining stock, and once that’s gone we won’t be finding them anywhere again. I say that because I could not find these listed for sale on Conair Scunci’s official website. I suspect that means they’ve been discontinued. Impt Info Re: Size: It’s important to know this “Open Center” barrette comes in 2 sizes. There is, however, no indication of the barrette’s size on the package nor in accompanying “Item Description”, etc. So be careful when ordering to know which size you want and which size is being offered for sale. *Scunci's smaller “Open Center” barrette is @ 2 ¼” long. These are positioned in the package they come in horizontally. *The larger “Open Center” barrette which indicates it is for “Thick Hair” is 3 1/2” long. These larger ones are positioned in the package they come in vertically. The one for sale in this listing is the LARGE barrette. Do not confuse these with the much smaller “Open Center” barrette. These are very much the same quality as the originals I bought years ago. The only difference I see is the metal of the barrette that reverse curves from front to the back side is a little less of a smooth curve. Not an issue. These are definitely worth buying. And if this is what you’re looking for, I suggest doing so before they’re possibly gone for good.

My friends joke I have horse mane hair on account of how thick and plentiful it is. Typically barettes do nothing for me. But this actually can hold my bangs back. It's easy to use and holds a decent amount of hair away from my face. It's not like a hair clip so don't expect it to hold all your hair, but it holds a good bunch. They're simple looking so nothing fancy, but they're practical and useful. I hope Scrunchi makes more of these but with cuter designs!

These are fine and relatively inexpensive barrettes, the likes of which you are surely already familiar. I'm not actually a huge fan of this style of barrette, where the bottom piece has a big curve. The curve fits against the back of my head, which makes it hard to close the barrette because I can't get my finger under the bottom piece when I'm pressing the barrette closed over a big chunk of hair pinned up on the back of my head. I prefer the old Goody barrettes that I can't find anymore: long skinny flat (NOT CURVED) tortoise-shell-plastic-covered metal barrette. Because the bottom piece is straight, it's holds itself away from the curved back of my head so I can close it easily when it is stuffed full of hair. Nonetheless, these barrettes perform as expected except the black one started shedding paint flecks all over my hand, after I'd only use the barrette for a couple of days. What's up with that? So I basically got two instead of three barrettes for the price, hence the three-star review.

FINALLY!!!! I have three large barrettes that I've had for what seems like forever. They are really the only ones that hold my hair because it's very long and very thick. I have bought so many other brands on the Internet trying to find ones that are similar to the ones I've had for a long time but they were never the same quality or thicknesses. I took a chance and ordered these barrettes and it was like Christmas day! They are EXACTLY the same as the ones I've had for years. I am ordering at least two more sets today so that I will always have them. If you have long, thick or hard to control hair these are a godsend. Especially now with the heat wave that we're having here in Ohio it gets my hair out of the way and it stays out of the way with these wonderful barrettes. I would give them 10 Stars if it was allowable. I highly highly recommend these to anyone who needs barrettes!!
