Q: Can this be charged in camera on a z9, like the nikon enel 18d?

I’m sorry but I have never tried in camera charging on my Z9. I keep 3 batteries in rotation on all my Nikon camera (I have 4 of them) in my camera bags. As the current battery loses its charge I swap out the battery with a fresh on. When I return home I take the spent battery(ies) and recharge them. As I recommended on an another answer, I use a permanent marker to number each battery and rotate them in order so that all batteries have equal uses and recharges since they all have finite number of times they can be recharged and deliver a full usage. In time, they will give fewer number of shots in the camera and will no longer hold a charge. By numbering and rotating them you give a longer/equal life to your batteries.

Yes.. absolutely… works with the Nikon z9 charger very well!

This charger is made specifically for charging the Wasabi batteries. The caution that Wasabi is advising against using this charger on the Nikon brand En El 18D battery. There is a chip in the Nikon battery that specifically ties the Nikon branded battery to the Nikon MH-36 charger. The risk using the Wasabi charger with the Nikon battery is damaging the Nikon battery which costs ~$220 to replace from a Nikon dealer. Personally, I have no issue using my Nikon charger with my Nikon battery and the Wasabi charger for my other En El 18D batteries which have been ‘decoded’. This is no big deal to me. The same holds true for the En El 15 batteries for some of my other. Nikon cameras.
