Caldera Releaf Neck rest - Large - Black (REL200) | Fits 15 1/4" to 17 1/4" neck size

I bought a normal neck pillow at the airport just before a 13 hour flight. The normal pillow did not work for me, simply because my head would fall right though the gap in the front of the pillow, and rotating the normal pillow didn't help as it was too thick and felt like it was choking me.I searched for and finally settled on the Caldera Neck Rest. I bought the large size which was just right, I don't have a large neck, so I would simply call the large and adult size.The pillow itself is comfortable. You can adjust how tight it is with the velcro strap, it doesn't take much to adjust it. It doesn't cut off your breathing and it is strong enough that your head won't crush it when you fall asleep. It holds in all directions so you won't find yourself waking up with a sore neck.It collapses down to a very small size so you can cram it into a bag without any problems, try that with a normal travel pillow.It does look like your wearing a medical brace, but hey those are also designed to hold your head in place. This was a life saver on my long second round trip overseas. I got much more sleep on the second trip and never had a sore neck.

Provides neck support on the plane without too much bulk. Doesn't take up a lot of room in your luggage. Was able to sit back comfortably and slept well.

I have a herniated c4/5 disk which has caused much discomfort with arm/hand numbness and neck pain while sleeping. I have tried several pillows and eventually found the best relief without a pillow. This little baby has caused me to enjoy pain free sleep since I received it.Make sure you get the large if you have a neck size of like..15" or more - (like most men). Another thing: The color bleeds like crazy so you can save lots of hassle by just washing the thing right away in hot water. I took it into the shower with me and in five minutes, had most of the excess dye removed. Funny, it didn't look any different at all.Another thing - remember to keep it a bit less than snug if you are going to lie down and sleep with it - the neck veins naturally distend when you lie down and can end up feeling strangled. If you are like me, just having it on a little less than snug will keep you head in a good position all night.Seems to wash well - which is good...because I imagine if it wasn't washed periodically, it would end up smelling like a sock.I'm glad I bought it..for the price it has been an awesome value for me.

Neck rests are so subjective. For me, despite the memory foam, and softness to hand touch, this product feels stiff and high. More like a brace than a rest. YMMV.

I now have four of these - one each Black/Black and Jade/Black, and two Granite/Black. I bought my first one several years ago from an in-flight catalog; the other three are recent purchases from Amazon. I have had some neck problems since a traffic accident nearly 20 years ago, which have become worse over the last five years even with fusion of three vertebrae. The Caldera Releaf collar is Not A Medical Device, but they have given me more comfort than any of the medical device foam collars I have had over those years. It is an actual engineered product (not just a block of foam wrapped in scratchy fabric and approved by the regulatory agencies.)The Releaf collar is designed for sleeping primarily while seated or reclining, such as on an airplane flight. (That is why I bought that first one several years ago.) The collar is fairly stiff in the vertical direction, in order to support your head comfortably when sleeping in those positions. I works wonderfully for that purpose. I have found that it also provides comfort during activities such as driving, working at a desk, reading or similar activities. I have found that it is uncomfortable to wear when exercising or laboring (it gets very hot and sweaty) or while lying down (it presses on the side of my neck too much when I sleep on my side.) The hook-and-loop fastener has about five inches (127 mm) of range. Worn correctly, so you can slip two fingers between the collar and your neck, it should not restrict breathing PROVIDED you have the correct size. (For example, I wear a US 18-inch neck size dress shirt and a Medium is too tight for me.) I find this to be very comfortable when used as intended, much more comfortable than the medical device collars. It is also less bulky than the medical devices. I clean these in the normal cold or warm water laundry (no chlorine bleach, and With the hook-and-loop fastener closed!) and air-dry them.I highly recommend them for anyone who needs head support while flying or driving, and for certain other activities.

I used this recently during an international trip that involved several long haul flights and REALLY loved it. It can be folded into a smaller size than the unwieldy cumbersome horseshoe neck pillows (inflatable or otherwise) I saw everyone else had,therefore took up far less of my precious packing space and left my hands free for my bag instead. Time and again I saw travelers waiting in various airport queues during the day just wearing their horse shoe pillows around their neck since they didn't have a hand free and their pillow was too big to fit in their bag. On flights this neck support supported my head very well and I was able to sleep more than I had originally dared hope. My chin was well supported instead of being down against my chest. It helped me sleep in whichever seat (window, middle, or aisle) I'd been assigned. One trip involved twenty five hours traveling, and days later I traveled thirty one hours to return to the US and I was really pleasantly surprised and delighted how well this neck support worked. I definitely recommend this to any traveler on long haul flights.
