Q: Does this prevent ankle from rolling sideways? My ankle rolls out, and other braces (ASO) rub my ankle bone raw.

Hello, the MalleoLoc will prevent your ankle from rolling. It will lock the ankle in place to prevent any lateral movement. It will still allow normal flexion of the joint.

Q: I just purchased the brace and find it comfortable I am wondering if any ladies have a certain athletic shoe that it works well in?

I am MALE, but I'd advise you give allowance for the brace by purchasing WIDE size shoes. Any wide gym shoes would do.

Q: Would this be good for obstacle racing

I don't know what obstacle racing is exactly, but I used it for soccer. About a month after a bad sprain, I could (carefully) trail run because it's a straight forward motion, but the side to side movement of a soccer game was still out of the question. So I bought this is stabilize my ankle -- it won't go anywhere in this thing! -- and it got me back on the soccer field about two to three month earlier than if I hadn't had it. I felt secure and safe from re-injury when wearing it, but it didn't inhibit my play. Don't put it through the washer/dryer, though, no matter how stinky it gets! The inside part will shrink up, rendering the brace unusable. The brace also has an annoying plastic protrusion that sits along the bottom of the foot that I didn't care for, but dealt with.

Q: what is the difference between size 1 or 2?
