It works great!
This thing is awesome! First time I used I only needed to smoke for 3 hours so I crumpled up some tin foil just enough to provide blocakge for the pellets but still be able to get out of the unit. Like everyone says, use a torch, we enjoy smoking crack so we had plenty around. Light it up, I burned all around the open end, directly into it, from the sides basically trying to get at least an inch of tube going. Let the flame burn for 10 min, then put your lips together & blow, gently to promote better burn & smoke. I put it in the bottom of my smoker flat & it burned perfect for 3 hours. Tomorrow I am doing a 8 pound shoulder & a tri tip, Looking forward to using this again.I have a Masterbuilt electric I got at walmart for $100.00. It maintains heat very well but the smoke tray requires too much baby sitting to maintain good smoke. This is truly get it going, toss it in & it's a continuous amount of smoke & I can go about my business. For a $120.00 bucks I have a unit I'd put up against a Tragger any day that cooks incredibly well & with this take aways the need for an auto feed unit. Excellent invention!

Use caution with torches but good results
It does the job and I like that it's square and doesn't roll around like my other container. However...the steel on this model is thinner than my round one and when I used my food torch to light the pellets along the side, the flame deformed the metal causing it to bend out of shape. In the future, I will torch only from the open end.[Update] Although the metal does warp slightly when applying a blue torch flame to the sides while lighting the pellets, it pops back into perfect shape when cooled. So I'm raising my rating one star. It's still best to light pellets from the open end.I cold smoked a 2 pound cheddar cheese brick with alder wood pellets and the flavor was amazing. With any smoker, flames can appear if heat builds. Just fling a few drops of water at the flames to resume smoking. I filled the container end to end and a quarter inch high with pellets. It smoked for over an hour.

My son said they were the best I ever made and I loved not having to ...
I used this in my Foreman indoor/outdoor grill. It was a bit long, but I was able to fit three slabs of babybacks on them. I set the grill between 1 & 2 and let them smoke for 4 hours. My son said they were the best I ever made and I loved not having to maintain the fire. I bought a butane lighter (but no butane), so I put some cardboard in it and lit it by laying it in the flames of my gas stove. Worked fine. Easy cleanup in the sink even with stuck on bbq sauce. I've also smoked wings and potatoes. Delicious! I had given up outdoor cooking, because I was tired of charcoal and with a gas grill you might as well cook it in the house on your stove. This along with my Foreman got me back outside.

Quality item
Works well. If you fill it up it'll last about 6 hours. You typically only need to smoke between 3-4 hours otherwise you'll impart a very bitter taste on the foods your smoking. I crumble up some aluminum foil and shove it through to the other end to shorten the 12" length to 9-10". I add my pellets but do not shove them in tight, only about 3/4 full. Torch up the pellets according to instructions and let it smoke. Works great.

AWESOME PRODUCT!!
Super easy to use, box stated "smokes up to 4 hours" mine smoked for 5.5 hours , didn't have to refill it since that was the right amount of smoke time i needed. it took just under a pound of pellets... this is a "set it and forget it" type smoker cube.. perfect match for any smoker..

Once lit it works great for smoking cheese in WI winters
I have difficulty with this item but it may just be operator error. It's very difficult to get started and I usually end up making a mess before I finally get it lit. Once lit it works great for smoking cheese in WI winters. Occasionally it will flame up but have not determined why that happens or how to avoid it. I need to keep a close eye on the smoker when using this, just can't set it and forget it.

I was used to smoking with chunks and stick and the pellet grill just doesn't give that bold smoke flavor I desire so I tried the smoke cube and ribs and brisket come out great so far
I needed something to supplement my new pellet grill when smoking. I was used to smoking with chunks and stick and the pellet grill just doesn't give that bold smoke flavor I desire so I tried the smoke cube and ribs and brisket come out great so far. I have usedpellets as well as chips and even a combination of the two and this thing worked great each time.

GREAT product!
This is a great product - it's very well-made and works wonderfully. The cleaning brush is nice to have. Our set-up isn't as nice as the picture shows, so we aren't actually using the S hooks, but maybe one day!!!!
