Big screen, light, fast and quiet: very little to criticise
At last, a laptop that's not only powerful enough to play moderately demanding games and, despite the 17-inch screen, also light enough to carry around and has battery life that keeps it going all day. And for me, the other big plus is that it's quiet. Even running a game with the fan seemingly on max output, it provides a bit of white noise in the background, not a jet engine whine like my previous machine. Most of the time though, it's completely silent. Again, unlike my last laptop. With 1TB of storage and 16GB of memory, the hardware supports everything I need it for. You might want more RAM or storage if you were editing videos, for example, but the specs suggest you can add more storage; I haven't opened it up to check. The centrepiece though is the display. I love the anti-glare screen so I can sit by a window without seeing reflections, narrow bezels allow the screen to fill the field of view and it's plenty bright enough for my uses.Other user interface issues: the keyboard is just deep and clicky enough to be great to type on, and the separate number pad is useful too - if only for the Enter key that sits on the far right and so is easy to prod when typing quickly. If I had a criticism, it would be that the Enter key in the middle of the keyboard is harder to pick out than if it were larger, and I'd prefer the Home and End keys, which I use a lot when typing, not to require use of the Fn key. The black case also picks up fingerprints easily but these are easy to remove with isopropyl alcohol. Or vodka will probably work too! And I'd prefer to have had Windows Pro installed by default rather than Home just for the additional networking functionality but that's simple to remedy.Charging is via a USB-C port and the charger itself is a fairly small, lightweight component, making the whole apparatus easy to carry around when necessary.Very impressed with this machine. It's not the cheapest on the market but having spent weeks researching the 17-inch laptop market, you will struggle to find one that combines all these features without paying a whole lot more.

Excellent Laptop. Very lightweight but sturdy
Very lightweight indeed. 17 inch screen. Almost silent to run. Very stylish. Easy to set up. Some have facial recognition and some use a thumb print. (I prefer the thumb print model) These are excellent laptops. They are made of aluminium and a super dark grey colour. Good keyboard. I absolutely recommend these. (I have purchased three so far on behalf of my work.)

It’s an absolute gem
I’ve now had this for 3 weeks. I’m completely enchanted with it and that takes some doing for an 85 years old. What’s so pleasing about it? Well, for starters, it’s fast, has a 17” screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, and it’s so light. Screen reflections are barely noticeable, the keyboard is very comfortable to use, it boots to a usable screen in 12 seconds and shuts down in 7 seconds. I could go on but I think that’s enough to convey my feelings about it. I like it! A lot.

Don't buy it's rubbish
Don't buy this laptop, it is rubbish. Even though it has an i7 CPU & 32GB RAM, it is actually very slow, It's Widows Hello camera stops working & Windows Explorer crashes very frequently. It's speakers are not loud enough and battery doesn't even last for more than 2 hours. Do not trust any of the claims made by LG. It's not worth it and there are other laptops much better than this. LG technical support is non existent. Learn from my mistake and do not buy this laptop.

Really nice
Overall I really like this laptop and there are just a few minor things that prevent it from being perfect for my use case. I'm a software developer and wanted something light but with plenty of screen real estate that I could take out and about and "cut code" on.Although I have a 16" macbook pro I rarely pick that up to code on. The macbook is the machine I go to if I want to code in the house/work, while having it docked against external monitors. The mac is also great for general use and content consumption with its great screen and long battery life. The LG gram has a fantastic screen and just feels much more comfortable ergonomically, perched on your lap etc for a coding session. I find that the bulkiness of the mac makes it uncomfortable to type on, whilst on my lap. The LG gram is less good for consuming content compared to the mac due to the speakers. The speakers aren't super bad, however they are a little "tinny" and there is no comparison to the mac speakers. One of the great things about the LG Gram is that I was able to put Ubuntu on the machine, which I prefer to mac os, for coding. It seems to work well although like a lot of laptops battery life seems worse for linux. That's not the manufacturers fault just less polished drivers etc I guess. But that's pretty universal for all laptops. One of the draws for this laptop was the second m.2 sdd drive bay. It was my intention to put in another ssd solely for linux. Unfortunately when taking out the screws I stripped one and therefore never got the back off the machine. Also the screws are hidden under covers that are tricky to get out. Some are hidden under rubber domes. So the bottom of my machine is scratched now and I still didn't get a second drive in. I meant c'mon LG surely you can do better than this? Some really cheap laptops have a special removable bay to add an ssd. So it's disappointing that you don't get this on such a premium laptop. The only other slight quirk is that the keypad offsets the main keyboard a bit and that takes a little getting used to. I never use a keypad and it would have been perfect for me if it didn't exist and the rest of the keyboard was centered. As you would expect with an intel machine the battery life is middling. Again nothing like you would get with a macbook. I don't hear any fans i general use and generally I don't push the machine that much. I think I have heard the fans a few times during windows updates and I remember hearing them but not to the point that they were super annoying. All in all a great laptop with the main draw being the matte finish amazing big screen and the super light chasis. A solid purchase for certain if you need windows, want to get general work done.
