The original remote for my old receiver no longer worked for volume and mute, but all other buttons still did. I needed a replacement remote just to control the volume, this new remote worked right out of the box for my Yamaha RX-V1400 receiver - The volume, power, mute, and even the input selection buttons worked which is more than I expected for an $8 replacement for my $120 old remote, only the stereo-type selection (surround, thx, dolby, etc...) buttons did not work, which I did not think it would, could not ask for more, saved a lot of $$, great value.

Worth the price

Is not programmed like the one that came with the unit. Did not work. You could tell it was an aftermarket garbage. More China CRAP!

Works perfect

The volume / power buttons on the original Yamaha remote quit working. The setup button still worked, if I needed to change anything in the setup. So gave this replacement remote a try and now I can power on the receiver and change volume remotely again. Setup button does not work on this new one, so will still have to keep the original around for that. I saw a mention in another review about programming buttons, but with no instructions I"m not sure how you're supposed to do that.

I needed the menu function to work... but this only controls my volume... I didn’t feel like going through the hassle of returning it so a win for this company and a lost for me

not really sure how to review a remote. lol.. it works great and when you push a button it does what its supposed to do.

The remote *technically* works, but almost none of the buttons match up to what they're supposed to be. Despite it saying it supports my unit (rx-v663), it doesn't work properly. Dpad up and down control volume, Dpad left and right change the sound stage, none of the scene buttons work, and I haven't been able to get much else about it working beyond those and the power buttons. I'd love to know if I'm doing something wrong (in that case I'll update my review), but until then, I cannot reccomend getting this remote. You'd be better off going to eBay and buying a used remote for your unit.

Remote kind of works, but setup menu and directional arrows do not. Sometimes if you try to use the setup menu as per the RX-V757 manual the remote will get into a strange mode where buttons move around, pressing power for instance might cause you to go into direct passthrough mode and require you to remove the batteries in order to reset it. Don't recommend for this device.
