Simple device with excellent support
Emporia is a company that stands behind their products. This is rare nowadays, and I believe you can buy an EVSE from this company and count on excellent and communicative customer service and support after purchase. The unit I purchased did have an issue, and Emporia was excellent to work with when I contacted them seeking support. Everything was completely resolved to my satisfaction and I came away from the whole interaction highly impressed with the company. I would definitely do business with them again! Of course, the unit will charge your car. It is simple and easy to work with. I love the straightforward design and basic functions on the EVSE - no nonsense, no silly additional features that seem interesting at first and then you never use again, no extra bits to malfunction. Just plug and chug - I got an electric car to save money and simplify my life, and this EVSE helps me with that goal. I would absolutely recommend the purchase to anyone with an electric vehicle.

Excellent charger and excellent Iphone app
Easy to install, works great. Iphone app is excellent, I can set when to charge my EV, and I always can check the progress of my charge. I installed it myself, very easy to do if you have some electrical knowledge.

Got my own gas station!
Welcome to another world. Seriously. This fuels a driving addiction in a way that's so out of this one. You'll see. If you are looking for a good charger this works great. Just be sure to use your phone, check WiFi strength for your intended instal location. Usually this will be in a garage, where WiFi strength may be weak in spots. Between garage doors is a convenient placement, and, is out enough to catch WiFi in my location. Just an idea for you. The app is pretty sweet also. Output current can be throttled. Peace if mind when time allows, or, overnight charging. It also connects to location and knows local utility rates, off peak hours can be used with a timing schedule. Also tracks electrical cost of total, and individual charge times. Charging state can be monitored from phone. And more. I cannot compare to other brands, this is my first experience. As a novice, hey, it's a 11 kw charger. It crams electrons back into my car so it goes wooooosh! Enjoy. Update. 10-25-25 Flawless operation. Even when disconnected from power for thunderstorms, this unit reconnects. So far , this is a good unit. Pleased. The app is awesome.

Great quality and price
Had this for almost 2 years. No issues. App is intuitive and reliable. Customize / adjusting amperage is really neat feature. I thought I was going to use 48 amps, but I can only use a 30 amp dryer outlet. It is unused because I use a gas dryer. Adjusting charger to 24 amps has been sufficient for my needs.

The Best EV charger regardless of price & best business EVSE.
I'm a knowledgeable EV owner. I've been installing EVSEs for our cars and trucks since 2013 at both residential and commercial sites. I've been using these Emporia EVSE systems alongside other brands: Both kinds of Tesla, (80a and newer 48a) The Rivian EVSE that is included with truck The Bosch systems The GM OEM systems Various JuiceBox models Various ClipperCreek Jaguar OEM, and probably more I now run mostly Emporia systems for the last 3+ years. Easy to install, easy to troubleshoot. Excellent Tech Support, and they stand by their warranty without a fight. The interactive cell phone application allows you to customize multiple chargers and other devices. If you get the Emporia Vue energy monitoring system, you can do things like - use only solar power to charge, turn on and off 120v devices to control load, set Demand Limits for the entire address, not just the charger(s). Example - Say your utility charges ultra high rates if you exceed 20kW of demand (yes Edison, I'm trash talking you!). Your Emporia system with Vue can charge your EVs at the maximum rate possible, and even shut down electric devices that would push you over the 20kW limit when you are NOT charging your car! Let's say your utility charges you money for making too much power, you can siphon off solar surplus into your EVs, or even nerf your solar output if you are really clever. Time of Use mapping is simple, everything has it now, as does EMPORIA. Without any exaggeration at all, my Emporia chargers have saved my business over $30,000 in SCE Demand Based Tariff fees in the last 3 years. For home users, lets say you have only 1 circuit that you can charge EVs from because your house has a low total amp panel. The Emporias can charge multiple cars at the highest possible without exceeding your amperage limits. Example - You have a 100 amp house and 2 EVs with Emporia chargers. You can pick which car charges faster than the other, and when your AC, Oven, Drier, etc, kick on, the Emporia will lower the EV charging rate until there is more available current. Or, if you have a ultra-expensive 4-9pm window (yup SCE, talking about you), you can not only temporarily stop EV charging and restart at 9pm, you can also turn off other household loads at 4-9pm. Downside? IIRC, it won't allow Teslas to charge at 277 vac last I checked. Yes, you can get it with a Tesla NACS cable now! To do the advanced functions like Demand Limiting, you should use a licensed electrician with EXPERIENCE working with 'smart home' or Emporia systems, because you will need to go into the panel to put the VUE inductive monitors on. I did all this myself because I know a lot about EVSEs and electrical building codes. I was going to include more pictures, but I have no idea why Amazon blocks or doesn't pictures. They wipe out your review if they don't like one of your pictures, and I don't want to type everything again and again.

After reading and watching multiple reviews online I decided to buy the Emporia. I’ve had it for 2 weeks now and it works fine no issues at all. First I like the look of it but most importantly it’s well built, good quality, installation options (NEMA14-50 or Hardwired), easy to install, up to 48A, good price and the app is super easy to use. I had it installed hardwired by my electrician to get the maximum amperage from my charger. The amperage can easily be adjusted using the app from 12A to 48A by 4A increments depending on your circuit breaker. Connecting my Charger to my wifi literally took seconds. Compared to other chargers this charger gives you more charging amps at an excellent price. Also, if you loose power during the night and power comes back this Emporia will restart automatically charging your car which is not the case with some other brands that need to be reprogrammed and restarted. So no surprise in the morning when you’re ready to go to work. I’m so happy with my purchase, delivery was fast. I highly recommend the EV Charger!!

When purchasing our EV we did fairly extensive reviewing of home level 2 chargers. The Emporia fit the bill for us given the options of connections and installation for either 40 or 48 amp and provides charging speed of 9-9.5 kwh so takes 4-5 hrs to charge approx for us to 80%, the reviews at the time, and reasonably priced for what you get. It has not disappointed and worked well from the first charge and still going strong reliably. The App is not fancy but adequate and gives the settings options that are needed and provides data and info that is practical No regrets with our purchase and would recommend to others.

The install was easy, only issue was the knockout size was different than expected. App is fairly easily to figure out, only request would be to schedule charging or Amp limits. During the day lower the output and at night have the limits go higher. Just a suggestion
