While I prefer the flavor of boquerones en vinagre, these, in lemon olive oil, are a great stand-in substitute. I feel a little pity for the occasional reviewer here who believes them to be sardines.

The flavor of the canned fish is outstanding, as is the quality. Patagonia also provides excellent customer service if you have an issue with the products. I was initially concerned about the small health/safety tag but Patagonia customer service responded promptly and helpfully, explaining that this possible lead warning was standard for natural fish products to comply with California law. Patagonia regularly tests its products to assure they are safe and only uses BPA free cans, making Patagonia among the safest and healthiest natural fish products. I got these for health reasons, and after Patagonia's thorough explanation of their safety procedures, I feel very confident these are among the safest natural fish products.

I was looking for Boquerones, these are not that. I know they do not say they are. They’re ok, but for my taste, I’d rather have something else. The product is good, spices are a nice touch.

Very disappointing!!! Definitely NOT white anchovies! These are sardines, and not very tasty, at that!!

Boquerone quality in a tin. Great if you don't wish to carry the fluid around in a plastic container. No tinny taste. Disappeared faster than other anchovies at our anchovy tasting party, particularly favored by those who don't appreciate all the salt in heavily salted anchovies.

Yummy but worth it. Far superior to the skinny, overly salty, oily brands
