HIC Kitchen ChopStir Original Hamburger Ground Meat Vegetable Frozen Concentrate Egg Chopper, Heat-Resistant Nylon, Black

First off - I am a Lazy Cook, and I am always looking for an easier way to do a task. I have been breaking up packs of ground beef while cooking it to make chili, spaghetti sauce, and various other dishes for a VERY LONGGGG TIME - and have always used a spatula or spoon, like almost everyone else. My wife and daughter went to a Pampered Chef Party recently where they saw a chopping tool designed to break up ground beef in a skillet. Sounded good to me - until I heard the price !!!! I did a search at Amazon to see if I could purchase one cheaper there. Did I mention I am also Frugal. It was some cheaper, but still no bargain - BUT another chopping tool, the ChopStir Nylon Chopper caught my eye in the suggestions. I figured for $7.00 I couldn't go wrong.I am very glad I spent the money. This tool is great for breaking up blocks of ground beef in a pan or skillet. It probably has other uses but for me this alone makes it worth every penny. I have never used the Pampered Chef Mix N Chop, but as another reviewer pointed out, the center area of the four 90 degree blades seem to be easier to clean than the five swirled blades on the Pampered Chef tool because the 5 blades form tighter angles.Bottom Line: This ChopStir works great, is easy to use, and cleans up easily in the dishwasher without any special attention. At $7.00 the price is right, and the white one is even 7¢ cheaper! :-)

It does exactly what it says it will do. Chops up ground beef easily for me. It’s sturdy and hasn’t shown any signs of wear and tear yet and I’ve had it for a few months. Would buy again.

I didn't even know there was a kitchen tool like this and I stumbled upon it by accident on the Amazon site. I absolutely had no hopes for this to actually work but it blew my mind just how easy and amazing this little thing is. On weekends we have Taco night and I would sit there with a wooden spoon, chopping the ground meat until it separated properly, which took me a while and I thought to myself, there has got to be a better way out there! Let me guarantee you, this works! It's awesome! Took me literally SECONDS to grind it all up and literally no effort at all, just up and down motions for a few seconds and a lb of beef was in perfect crumbled pieces. Awesome tool!!! Highly recommend this, if you want to make your life in the kitchen easy -----> This needs to be added to your kitchen tools. 5+ rating!!! Love it!!!!!!!!

I didn't know something like this existed until I saw a PC version of this. The PC version is too expensive for a kitchen gadget that is a nice-to-have rather than a need-to-have. So, I searched Amazon and found this one. It works well in breaking down the ground meat to crumbles (as it should be) while cooking, and it cleans easily too. I only hand wash this, so can't attest to how clean it comes out in the dishwasher. This also works well in making guacamole and egg salad. It says that it is high in heat resistance, but haven't left it sitting in the pan or up against the pan long enough to know (it also states in the description not to leave the tool in a hot pan). My impression is that it would melt if left in the high heat. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase and especially pleased with the price. Definitely recommend if you cook lots of ground meat!

I was a little skeptical about this gadget. But it really does the job of breaking up the ground meat and makes the job quicker.

I normally hate new tools in my kitchen because they never seem to perform as well as they should or as well as the package advertises. A new tool or appliance needs to really solve a need of mine in order for it to *earn* a place in my kitchen.... I like this one so well that I bought both the black one and the white one (no kidding)I store the black one in the crock on the stove where I keep my most used spoons and spatulas because I find myself reaching for it often. I have used them for meat sauces, mexican meals, sloppy joes as well as smushing up fruits for salads and gelatins. Also good for guacamole, salsa and veggie dips.... egg salad, chicken salad, etc... the list is endless.It doesn't scratch any pan, it's easy to clean, easy to hold, efficient, doesn't get hot.... the price is right and it does the job that it was created for.Highly recommended....

I've had this chopper for YEARS and needed a replacement. So glad this original chopper still exists. I've purchased these in the past for stocking stuffers too. They make chopping ground beef as it cooks to make it "crumbly" so easy. This is probably one of the kitchen tools in my drawer that is used most frequently.

This is just like the As Seen on TV meat chopper. When cooking ground beef or turkey, just chop it up in the pan with this utensil. The meat comes apart easily and evenly. Its a lot better than using spatulas or tinsels. You are probably wondering why you need this. It just makes it easy to chop your ground meat and even if its still a bit frozen, still works. This is a four sided chopper compared to a one sided spatula. So there you go, four times faster!!! Cheap and easy to use making chopped meat even easier. The plastic is thick and well made. Seriously doubt it will ever break when using it. The grip is perfect and long enough not to get splatter from grease.
