I spent a lot of time choosing a vegan cook book and decided on this one based on good customer reviews. I like that the beginning tells you about veganism and how to start out its very helpful. I am dissapointed that the pictures are tiny and in black and white and not on all recipes. I dont like not being able to see the recipe before i make it. I dont have a lot of the ingredients already on hand so I dont think this is the best for someone starting a vegan diet for the first time. I was hoping for more simple recipes with less ingredients.

Fabulous Vegan Cookbook
This book is written in a well, thought out and concise manner that makes it a joy to read. The fact that Jared breaks down the science of veganism makes it easy to understand for the omnivore, but also for the vegan who wants to expand their knowledge on the subject. Not only are the recipes delicious and flavorful, but they are good for you as well. This book is an excellent tool for anyone wanting to learn how to eliminate cruelty from their plate and also to help improve the environment now and for future generations to come.

Good Recipes but not for Beginner Vegans
This book is disappointing for a "beginner" vegan such as myself. The science of veganism, subject of the first chapter, gives the impression that some particular illnesses are caused by a poor diet and that a vegan diet cures them. Science indicates that the causes of illness are not single factors. Diet is important but not as singularly powerful as the author suggests. A whole chapter of testimonials, which is anecdotal "evidence," is not good science. The chapter might have been better used to include a glossary or an explanation of ingredients. A recipe that calls for a pie crust does not say how to make or shop for a vegan pie crust.Despite all this criticism, I do appreciate many of the recipes. Having the calorie information with the recipe is also appreciated.

Black and White Pictures.
The only Issue that I see so far is the fact that the pictures are in black and white. I am not sure if that is the way it is supposed to be, but I can live with that. I will update my review after I have made some of the recipes.

Excellent! Goes beyond the ordinary! Very informative and helpful.
This cookbook goes above and beyond in making adopting a vegan lifestyle simple and understandable. It's perfect both for the novice or experienced vegan,and anyone in-between.It's very informative and detailed, giving nutrition information for each recipe, and even explains how to lose weight on a vegan diet.There are lots of testimonials from people stating what benefits they have experienced from having a vegan diet.This book was very well thought out, planned and written superbly.I highly recommend it to everyone who is curious about adopting a vegan lifestyle.

Great vegan recipe book!!
A really well put together book to help anyone transitioning into veganism, a beginner vegan or even an advanced vegan! You can tell this was a labor of love and am thankful to have this as an amazing source for tips, testimonials and TONS of vegan plant-based recipes. They all look delicious and many are basic omni recipes just turned vegan that anyone and everyone can enjoy to reach their healthier lifestyle goals. Thank you Jared! :)

Great resource to have...
This book is a great companion resource to have for all new and veteran vegans alike. It incorporates a wide variety of recipes to satisfy every taste bud and it’s all done without harming any animals whatsoever. Most recipes are simple and conveniently designed for everyday cooking but would also impress at dinner parties or when hosting family and friends. Give it a try, I’m sure you will like it. :)

Some yummy ways to use tofu
There are some good creative preparations for tofu and several different approaches to vegan cheese substitute. I wish there were photos!

No what I expected
Looks and sounds great, some recipes are ok to follow but most of them are based on classic american dishes, albeit Vegan, they're copies of classic fatty non-vegan dishes , like Mac & Cheese alternatives. Sure the vegan option is more healthy.....the issue i have is most ingredients are based on american brands / products like "Fleggs" an american egg replacement product, and some of the names are not the same products in the UK, so can be confusing... example we don use "Cilantro" - after googling it: cilantro = coriander - not fun when you're having to google everything, and it's confusing ingredients while trying to follow recipes (some of which are too long winded) Many dinner recipes are long, and complex, so hardly for the beginner. I was hoping for something more quick and easy with more raw vegan ingredients, but why do Vegans have to try cook everything and copy meat "like" dishes - I wanted more fresh vegan recipes.

Disappointing - photos are crap in black and white
looks like a lovely colourful book - but on the inside all the photos are in black and white, and i don't mean fancy black and white photoshoot images, but like its been photocopied - its really poor - i want to see excellent quality images of the meals I'm going to make - i've rarely looked at it - so don't even know if the recipes are any good.

Not worthy of being sold in 2017
Cover looks ok but the pictures inside are of such a poor quality that you will probably never want to open the book and look at them again after the first time.I can't believe a publisher/author/retailer have all okay'ed this cookbook in 2017 given the poor quality of the pictures. They're not only black and white but look like they've been photocopied so many times that there is hardly any definition left at all.THE ONLY BOOK I'VE EVER RETURNED TO AMAZON.Seriously disappointed.

with easy to follow directions
I downloaded this yesterday for my husband who is recently vegan. We've tried out a couple of recipes already and they were delicious, with easy to follow directions. The "science of veganism" information is really informative, especially to those who are new to veganism.
