PID Digital Pro Controller Replacement (Item#365) for Traeger Pellet Grill, with 1 RTD Sensor, 2 Meat Probes.

EDIT: I got a message back from Customer Service. They acknowledged that this shouldn’t have happened and they are sending me a replacement. I didn’t even mention that my Traeger stays under cover at all times when not in use, and they never even hinted that the problem might be my fault. They stand behind their product and are very, very easy to deal with.Original (not totally accurate) Review: From the time I got this, the only way it worked was turning the dial from shut down to smoke. If I turned it to smoke, then flipped the power switch it errored. (The new one does this as well, so makes me think it is designed that way. Works great, just a quirk) Since I always use shut down, I didn’t really care. Now 3 weeks ago, just shy of a year, the display started flashing and then went dead completely. Following is the inaccurate part of the review: ((Contacted the vendor through Amazon and have heard nothing. Can’t even find the warranty information. If it is a year, which I suspect it is, then this died just short of a year. This product saved my smoker from going to the dump.Extreme value for the money.The original manufacturer for my grill wanted 300 bucks to replace the board inside.I found this for 30 bucks and all the connections fit perfectly.Temperature control had a awesome feature where you can program the controller to match the actual Temperature of the grill itself. That in itself was well worth the money spent.The accuracy was spot on cause I checked with different equipment that is 100% accurate.Quality of the product was beyond what I expected for the price and the performance has been spot on the whole time I've been using it.

This was the second control panel from this seller that I have returned. While the new control panel and thermometer functioned the temperature variation during a test was so wide it would have ruined food. When set at 225 degrees (f) it went above 400 degrees (one time close to 500 degrees) and below 200. Glad I was not actually cooking, or the food would have been ruined.

This was a relatively easy install on my Traeger smoker. Works well but seems to take an extended amount of time to zero in to the set point (runs too hot or too cool). Once it settles in, it holds the temperature pretty well.

If you have an old Traeger that uses a non PID controller, this is an essential upgrade that holds amazingly solid temperature. I want to emphasize this next bit however:THE PID FUNCTION IS OFF BY DEFAULT.Ive seen a few people saying this upgrade hasnt worked for them- And I cant help but wonder if they noticed/knew this. But, and ill say it again: THE PID FUNCTION IS OFF BY DEFAULT. By default it works like the old controllers that go off of time. With it off you will have temperature swings like youd expect to see with such a system. You have to manually turn on the PID function, and adjust it based on your grill-size.See the instructions here about the "Advanced" mode, this is how you set it up as a PID controller. Chef mode is also amazing IF you really want to fine tune the controller. But at a minimum, turn on the advanced mode.

This worked perfectly for about a year, then the lcd screen started going out and now it doesn't work at all.

Awesome fit, easy enough to install. Does not increase temps like I hoped, but could be the pellets.

Very well built and easy to install. I bought this to replace the controller in a Treager Terxas Pro that was giver to me. The owners dog had chewed out all the wiring and ruined the controller. This one works like a dream and it is a plus having the 2 extra meat probes. I would recommend this controller. The only thing different is this controller is a tad bit wider than the opening. I just trimmed off an 1/8" off of one edge of the hole and it fit perfect.
