Game changer, but read the instructions.
I maintain my own pool and have done a lot of research, and taken classes online on how to keep the chemistry in check. During one of my online lessons, the teacher talked about PoolRX. At first, i was suspicious, thinking this was another plug for products. I did my due diligence and research other instructors on YOUTUBE to see if they had the same feeling about poolRX. After all, it is $100. I know some pool care companies will deter you from buying it, and if you do have a pool service that you like and trust, I suggest you continue with their advice and care. Adding this to your pool equipment will likely interfere with their method. So, don't sneak one in either! :)However, If you are like me, and you want to do it yourself, I suggest you buy it.Make sure the filters are clean, the pool is fairly balanced. Ensure you buy the correct product for the size pool you have. Blue for smaller pools, black for 25k gallons and up. My numbers were: 7.2 PH, 4.0 Chlorine (high), and all others were at optimum levels (calcium, Total Alkalinity, etc.). After i cleaned the filters, confirmed all levels, I placed the poolRX In, and let it run for 24 hours. The chlorine reduced to .6, and remained there for the entire summer. At first, I worried, but upon reading the instructions again, I learned the mineral compound would bring the chlorine down, and it should remain at .6. It recommended continuing to put tablets to maintain the .6.I had 3 kids playing in the pool for hours a day, pool parties, and other friends and I never had algae during that time. In fact, I forgot to put a reminder to get another one and notice green spots in the pool at the end of the summer after torrential rain. Sure enough, it was time for another, and sure enough, the algae were gone. I continued to shock the pool after a lot of people bathed in it or every other month (even after the summer). My levels never changed again until it was time to get another one.If you are buying because of a bad algae problem, make sure you treat the pool with algaecide, brush, or follow your preferred care solution BEFORE you add the poolRX. Algae is highly invasive and aggressive, and although I cannot tell you if poolRX would win that fight, I can tell you I would not put it to the test at the expense of my pool equipment. The only thing I would like to have is a Subscription option, so I would have to remember when to buy it. The poolRX had to be replaced every six months, but it so worth it.I hope this helps all you DYIs out there.

Make sure you get the proper size for your pool
I cannot say enough good things about this product! My pool had algae stains around the sides and on the bottom. I had tried everything to get them out. Different algicides, green to clean, yellow out with pounds and pounds of shock. This went on for months. The stains would sometimes lighten only to start getting brighter green within days. I would brush the pool daily. I bought a metal brush and it didn’t make a difference at all. I would even scrub the sides with chlorine tablets and only make small clean streaks around the pool. A relative recommended pool rx and I figured I had nothing to loose. It was even cheaper than all of the other treatments I’ve tried. Within hours the new algae was gone and everyday the stains were getting lighter. It’s been about two weeks and the pool hasn’t looked better. The stains are very faint now and the water is clear! I’m so thankful I tried it

This product REALLY works!
How many times do we all see ads for products that work so good that they are "over the moon" only to find that they just don't measure up to all of the marketing hype? Well PoolRX is notable exception to this rule - it really works as advertised! I have been fighting algae every summer for years in my 25,000 outdoor pool. Gallons and gallons of algaecide, phosphate remover, and many rounds of "super-chlorination" and lots of my labor and $$$$$$ to the pool store - you know the drill. I saw a PoolRX review on YouTube and thought, what do I have to loose? I bought it, dropped it into my pump basket and within 1 week, ALL algae was GONE! It has stayed gone - no more algaecide, no more phosphate remover, and the pools chlorine consumption has dropped significantly. Also, my pH and total alkalinity have been very stable. For the last month, all I have had to do is add chlorine each week but NO other chemicals! If you too are tired of chasing algae, chlorine levels, pH, etc, try PoolRX. Remember, your pool store and/or your pool service has NO incentive to sell/recommend this product as it drastically reduces the sale of chemicals to you.

Actually does EXACTLY what it says! Saves time and money.
This little black cage is keeping my pool sparkling clean with little effort. We couldn't believe it! We live in the Deep South (Southern Louisiana), so not only is a pool practically a must during the summer heat and humidity but keeping it crystal clear to keep out mosquito larvae is also a must. Because of the heat and sun, we were constantly adding chlorine, but having a hard time keeping up, since it rains almost every afternoon here during Summer months. We tried a calcium stabilizer, but it was of little help. I really had my doubts about this PoolRX Black Unit when I saw it on Amazon, but thought, "Why not? Nothing else is working so great!" To our shock and excitement, we have had crystal clear water all season long and have not had to add half as much chlorine to the pool since starting with PoolRX. THANK YOU PoolRX, you are a life saver!
