Q: Is this a vegan glove?

: It's a genuine question if some thing is vegan or not.Vegan doesn't apply for just food, it's a lifestyle. Someone could have just ignored the question if you didn't want to answer it, making fun of somebody's else's belief is being disrespectful. Yes it says synthetic leather gloves, so is not made of animal leather. I wish the seller or manufacturer can clarify it.

Q: How do I know what size for an adult man 6’ 1” to play catch with his kids. Don’t need anything fancy just a basic glove that fits.

It’s really not a matter of the size of your hand as it is what the glove is for. (The exception being the 10” glove, which is for kids.) An infielder is going to use a smaller 11-11.5” glove because it’s easier to get it from the mitt and into their hand to make a quicker throw. But if you’re playing catch with your kid, that isn’t a factor. Most gloves are 12” and it’ll work fine for pretty much anything unless your hand is either really small or really big.

Q: How Do You Soften This?

The old way was to put 3 balls in the pocket, use a rope to secure it and dunk it in a bucket of water overnight. Let it dry for a few days then use shave cream with Lanolin in it and slather it on liberally. Now Sarna makes glove oil/conditioner whit Lanolin and mink oil in it and that works much better than shave cream.

Hi,Thanks for checking out an item we offer within our Amazon store. The 14" size is for sure geared more for softball due to its size. The 13" would be geared for a baseball outfielder or for softball again. The smaller sizes 12.5, and 12" are definitely geared more for baseball, but for sure could be used for softball. The bottom line is this a great backyard, recreational glove to play catch with or use for some recreational baseball or softball and it is more important to get the size that fits your hand size.
