Good l-lysine / zinc blend, but a bit pricey.
The tablets are medium sized, easy to swallow, and have no taste or aftertaste. The blue plastic bottle is coded for recycling as type 1 resin and was sealed with a foam disk for freshness and tamper evidence. The twist-off cap is easy to operate and is not child resistant. It was sealed with plastic shrink wrapping.Made in the USA from domestic and imported ingredients (but which are from where is not disclosed). The label could be improved with a QR code resolving to product information.Reasonably, but a bit on the expensive end for l-lysine, well priced when offered at about $12 for a 60-count bottle. The suggested dose is 2 capsules, so that's a 30-day supply at about $.40 per dose.

Good Combination Amounts, May Helpful for Aminio Acid Deficiency Issues
I like the combination of the L-Lysine (1,000mg) and the Zinc (30mg), particularly for when I know I’ve not been getting enough nutrition from my diet or when I’m ill. The L-Lysine is great for when one gets the bumps inside the mouth, a common sign of an amino acid deficiency, and the zinc boost to help the body fight germs/illnesses. It’s important to not take too much zinc, and the 30mg is a good boost for occasional use without being too much for most folks (always consult one’s medical provider).I learned when I was a child that I’m prone to a certain amino acid deficiency which can cause uncomfortable bumps in the mouth, usually inside the cheek, from time to time and the doctor recommended L-Lysine supplements for my mother to give me, so I take this combo from time to time, as I suspect I don’t get enough zinc through my diet as well. The Puritan Pride brand is an established brand that I’m familiar and comfortable with, so I was happy to see this combo by this brand. The size of the caplet is the same size as my regular L-Lysine supplement, and it is rather large (for those that find this important). So far I’ve not had any adverse reaction to this supplement, and I don’t take it every day as I think it might be too much for my body to do so. I like the extra boost of zinc in this and feel comfortable taking this because I trust the brand and like the amount of milligrams of each supplement in this. Thanks for reading.

I love Puritan’s Pride products
This one is no different! The price point is great and they are high-quality supplements. I take two different ones of this brand every night and my insomnia is gone! But that’s a different review. In context, I wanted to share that anecdote about my trust in this company’s products. It took me awhile to review this, since I got it before cold/flu season… And because Zinc can irritate my stomach I don’t take it as a prophylactic for my immune system, I wish I could… Because this is an immune powerhouse combination with Lysine that’s super beneficial.I’m not going to comment on the other benefits of Zinc and Lysine other than what I use them for… At the first signs of a cold or flu Zinc does wonders to either knock it out with a few other supplements for me, or lessen the effects if I don’t get to it fast enough… The Lysine, is great to take in combination to stave off a nasty cold sore that for me always happens on one of my nostrils as soon as I start wiping my nose too much from a cold. The combination makes me feel better faster and keeps the impending cold sore at bay! Prior to this, I had to take regular Lysine supplements at the first sign of a tingle and it would go away, with this it didn’t get the chance to start in the first place! If Zinc didn’t irritate my stomach so much, I’d take this every day to boost my immune system.

👍🇺🇸,good quality, made in USA, zinc is fine on empty stomach, important bc..
.... Lysine is an amino, so can compete with food aminos..I take lysine daily for Pauling protocol for heart... I take on an empty stomachSo was a lil worried the zinc ( i usually take with food) would upset my gutBut its fine..Im glad they didnt shove a huge amt of zinc in there...its a great antiviralAs is lysine, but dosing too high is too much and can make ya feelLousy.. Usually in our house we take a 50 mg only once or twice a wkUnless feelin under the weather, then a few days in a row.. Since this is slightlyMore than my daily dose, i alternate with my other lysines ( this works wellToo, bc they each have different additions)..Although i take lysine for heart, i rarely get sick anymore( i also take high dose c and a. bunch Of other supps butIt does seem that the biggest diff was goin on that..Keep in mind some foods and n.o. supps have arginineWhich competes so i eat them later in day,but ifI was feelin off, id avoid them ( choc is the hardest toAvoid lol)Good quality, made in 🇺🇸🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈

Name brand L-Lysine (+ Zinc ) capsules. Good immune system boosters
A lot of people turn to L-Lysine for cold sores. While there's no cure, it has been suggested by many studies that L-Lysine can both reduce the incidence frequency and reduce the duration of an outbreak (explained by the fact that increased L-Lysine will reduce the body's production of Arginine--an essential amino acid required for replication of HSV. I can't attest to whether it truly works, but, hey, for most people there are no real downsides, so why not? (Note that in unusual cases you can have side effects--as with most supplements). You can pay a lot for L-Lysine (check out what they want for it at the local grocery store!) This stuff is isn't the cheapest option, but you're buying a name brand made in America. You get 30 doses (2 pills/dose) in the bottle. Each dose includes 1000mg of L-Lysine (generally accepted daily dosing for cold sore treatment) and 30mg of Zinc, which is 270% of the USRDA, but below the upper recommended daily dose for an adult (which is 40mg/daily). It's nice to get both in one pill, and it's nice these aren't larded up with other stuff you may or may not want to take.A safe bet for those looking for Lysine supplements.
