Whynter Portable AC
Awesome air conditioner. Surprisingly came with protective cover, compartment for remote, and unlike most portable units the ring connectors that attach to the air hose are attached which is awesome when you move unit they don’t come apart like others. Only negative didn’t come with drain hose. Which is weird.

Worked Well | Premature Failure | Good Customer Support
This was the second of two units I purchased, having liked the performance and features of the first one. I especially like the form factor and the ability to run under most atmospheric conditions without requiring a drain tube. The timer allows the room to begin cooling ahead of time or turn off after a pre-determined period. The adapter plate is designed as a sturdy adjustable channel, but I did supplement it with adhesive gasket strips for the window interface. I rarely used the remote control, though it worked fine (with a restricted acceptance angle). It cooled a room with east-facing windows that could get up to 95 degrees ambient. Depending on sun load and humidity, it would typically achieve a 10 to 12 degree temperature drop. Low and medium fan speeds were subjectively quiet, and high speed was only used at the start to quickly cool off a hot room Unfortunately, just after the warranty period (1 year) ended, it stopped cooling. The compressor turned on, and everything else appeared to work fine, but exiting air was ambient room temperature. I suspect the refrigerant escaped over a week or two of disuse. Thus the 3-Star rating. Customer support was helpful, and with the help of Chenie G. at Whynter (who was thorough and patient), I was able to obtain a replacement unit for the price of shipping only.

That fan doesn’t run continuously
It’s a great unit that keeps my bedroom mostly cool. However, the fan shuts off when desired temp is reached then the room feels stuffy. Solution, bought a desk fan to circulate air. However, the unit and the fan combined rattle which keeps me awake. I’ve made multiple extra trips to find a fan that doesn’t rattle and haven’t found one. Solution, wear earplugs. Result, I’m very unhappy with my purchase. I’m annoyed that the manufacturer made this change

Not as cold as it's rated.
I've had regular windows ACs at the same BTU that was colder in similar sized rooms and this one is not as cold. I don't know if it's the type or the way the BTU is rated. I would go by the lower number if you're comparing. I have to say it is fairly quiet comparing to the one I replace it with but at the same BTU it's not as cold.
