I love this company
I love this company!! I had previously tried the Lithic bars and protein powder and loved them both. I drink the Protein after every workout and after every rugby practice or game, it is high quality protein and has helped me perform and recover at a high level. As an athlete its sometimes hard to get the protein I need throughout the day, especially in a natural/healthy form. So when I saw the 100% Cricket powder, I had to give it a shot and no surprise, its great too! I put it on everything, it mixes easily into whatever i'm eating to add a kick of protein and nutrients. The taste is subtle and delicious, my wife put it in the banana nut muffins she made, it was so good. Its also great in pancakes with a bit of flax seed, I even put it in my oats this morning. Its a great way to add protein to anything, I will definitely be getting more of this. Lars and Dave have done a lot of research and spend a lot of time to produce high quality, health products. I, just like others have received a hand written card thanking me for my business, not to many businesses would take time to do that. It says a lot about them and the company they run. I recommend this to anyone looking for a natural, health, high quality protein they can add to anything. After all, if you can take the stuff you are already going to eat, and make it healthier and better for you, why wouldn't you?

Smelly
the taste seems to be easily masked if using in a smoothie with lots of sweet fruit but the smell made my entire cabinet smell like dead bugs

Tasty and Sustainable Way to Work in More Protein
The media could not be loaded. I've been using Lithic's cricket powder for a few months now and I love it! It has a great nutty taste and a texture similar to almond flour. I add it to all of my smoothies - it tastes awesome and blends in perfectly. It's also great for adding protein to pancakes and baked goods, like muffins and banana bread - I just sub some of the regular flour out for the cricket powder! I've found ways to work it into a lot of different dishes - like oatmeal, granola, and homemade crackers.I've been deterred by other protein powders in the past partly due to undesirable or complicated ingredients - I love that this is made of just 100% crickets. I have also tried a couple other cricket powder brands before, but I think Lithic's has a superior taste/texture. And it's awesome to know I'm getting protein from such a sustainable source. As both a health-minded and environmental-minded person, I can't say enough good things about cricket powder - it's definitely worth trying!

Nice addition to wheat flour
I made a few recipes where I substituted 25% of the wheat flour with cricket flour. The exact amount was hard to know because the cricket flour is denser and packs a lot, so it would probably be better to substitute by weight...not sure. The results were nice, although a bit denser than the 100% wheat version. It may have helped to add gluten or yeast to counteract this, but I didn't and it was still fine.Flavor didn't change much, although when used in a "lighter" recipe like pancakes, there was a bit more crunch, reminiscent of buckwheat. Hoping this flour gets more popular for restaurants and consumers to make the price come down.

I love love love the Lithic Cricket Flour.
I love love love the Lithic Cricket Flour. I also love that Lithic is a very small company run with integrity. I add Lithic Cricket Flour to my regular smoothie mix for breakfast, and find that I only need two meals a day now. . Lithic Cricket Flour is power-packed with nutrients, far more than most powders I've tried. Lots of protein, very low carbs and fats, and zero sugars. It's flavorless, and gives me plenty of energy throughout the entire day and evening. What's not to like? The thought of eating bugs? Well, there is that, ha ha. But I just say thanks to the crickets and all the good they bring to my body, and thanks to the company, and that's that. The company has recently changed the name from cricket powder to cricket flour (same product though), and changed its packaging from black to white - the white is less cricket-like for the once-but-no-longer slightly squeamish types like me, lol I've bought their cookbook but haven't yet tried the recipes. They look delicious.

Great alternate protein that makes an environmental difference
Lars and Dave sent me a handwritten letter thanking me on being their first Amazon customer and supporting their small business. I have almost finished this powder so decided to write a review now since I have had plenty of time to test it out. It is a great product. I have had fun mixing and matching what shakes works well and a few that don't. Overall, I will be definetly purchasing again. I will also be looking out for any flavored types that come out. If you have never eaten insects before like me, it took a few shakes to get used but even those first few were still good. For what their small business is doing in terms of sustainability for our planet, I have to commend. Dave and Lars, thank you for making a difference and also providing me with a great product and thank you letter. I have recommended it to others I work with (which is an environmental educational camp) and will be buying more from you two very soon.

I really wanted this to work...
Made some Cricket pemmican from this. It turned out nice. Texture and consistency is good, taste is ok. I thought this was going to be my back country protein solution. But shortly after eating and for several hours after I was queasy and had elevated and pounding heart rate. There is clearly something not sitting well.I am not allergic to shell fish but then I also do not eat those because of the quantity of chemicals used to clean and preserve those. I am sensitive to that. I wonder if there is something similar going on with crickets? You are eating the exterior of a creature that does not disregard it's own feces. How are they kept clean or processed? Perhaps there are trace chemicals introduced this way? Or perhaps I am just sensitive to something else to do with crickets. Either way I cannot tolerate it.
