Good product, not a lot of flavor
I use these in grain-free granola, granola bars and cassava flour crackers. They make the finished product more colorful. I don’t taste a lot of sesame. Before these I used hulled white sesame seeds that I toasted myself. These had more flavor. If you chew these directly, you get a nice sesame flavor. I should try Kevala’s raw product and toast them to see if I get a flavor boost.Lots of good nutrients in sesame seeds, but it’s not clear that they’re digestible. The seed coating may get them through your digestive tract. If you’re seeking sesame nutrients, you’d do well to grind them or eat tahini.

Nice roasted scent!
I sprinkle on my avacado toast, it gives it a nutty flavored layer.

These are best quality black seeds - (and here's my favorite recipe)
These seeds are very good and great to work with to make a dramatic looking dish. The differences between these black seeds and the more common white seeds are pretty subtle – they taste about the same but I think have a little more “nutty” flavor. These Kevala blacks are lightly and uniformly toasted and are easy to use in just about any dish using sesame seeds. As far as I know there are no special health benefits to black over white seeds and they have about the same nutritional value as a supplier of calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorous, manganese, copper, zinc, fiber, thiamine, vitamin B6, foliate, protein, and tryptophan. These are probably the healthiest seeds you can get.Sometimes I like to cook with these black sesame seeds because they look dramatic (who ever expects black sesame seeds?). And they make a startling-looking garnish on noodles, eggs, vegetables, and whatever else you'd care to try them on – but they can look a little off-putting in baking cookies or pastries. Here is my absolutely favorite dish using black sesame seeds: Sesame Tuna. It's simple and delicious and you'll find yourself making this often:Make a Marinade with¼ cup soy sauce2 chopped garlic cloves1 tablespoon sesame oil1 tablespoon rice vinegar1 tablespoon mirin (Japanese cooking rice wine)1/8 teaspoon ground ginger1 teaspoon honeyI teaspoon finely minced scallionExtra marinade can be made to use as a dipping sauceother ingredients:2 ahi tuna steaks (or good yellowfin tuna steaks – not bluefin)black and white sesame seeds (maybe 1/4 cup each)1-prepare the marinade in a covered bowl. Marinate the tuna steaks in the fridge for a couple of hours2-Remove the tuna and coat with a mixture of the black and white sesame seeds3-Fry in a skillet 2-3 minutes per side (center of tuna steaks should be rare!)Serve with a side of white long-grain rice and a small bowl of dipping sauce. Yum!

Very Fresh, Smells and Tastes Wonderful
The sesame seeds were super fresh. They smelled wonderful and tasted great. I used my coffee grinder to grind the seeds to mix in with my oatmeal. The flavor goes super well with coconut milk. I mix in some coconut milk to cook the oatmeal, and I also make a drink using the ground sesame by mixing with chia seeds and coconut milk. A bit expensive, so I will be purchasing the better value less expensive 2 pack in the future.

Black sesame can cure excessive urination at night
For years I always had to wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, sometimes more than once in one night. Because of that I always had the lack of sleep since it was hard for me to go back to sleep after using the bathroom. One day I read an article about oriental medicine, it said that black sesame can cure nightly peeing. I didn't have much faith but told myself I have nothing to lose and I like sesame seeds anyway. Following what I read from the article I tried eating 1 tablespoon of roasted sesame seeds everyday. Each time I chewed for about 5 minutes or longer before swallowing. I'm not sure about the reason behind the instruction but I did it anyway. After one week I noticed that I didn't have to wake up everynight to use the bathroom anymore, not until my alarm went off. So happy with the result I kept finishing the whole bag and ordered some more to sprinkle on my salad or just eating by itself. If you're miserable about using the bathroom every night, black sesame seeds might be the your savior.

Excellent *Roasted* Black Sesame Seeds -- Great Morning Beverage Rich In Iron And Calcium!
I learned about grinding *roasted* black sesame seeds from my partner who lived in Taiwan. I can no longer tolerate even the relatively small amounts of caffeine in decafe coffee and I miss the aroma and taste terribly -- it's one of my favorite flavors. Since I can't have tea, also because of the caffeination, I was desperate to find a hot morning beverage with flavor and rich aroma. Ground *roasted* black sesame seeds added to hot water and sweetener of choice (or not) is a really satisfying substitute. And black sesame seeds happen to be rich in iron and calcium. I love the Kevala seeds -- they never disappoint. I grind the seeds in a $17 Krups dedicated grinder (since my partner grinds coffee beans in our old grinder), add hot water from the electric kettle, and some honey or sugar (or stevia, agave...). Play with how much flavor you like/want. I tend to use about a tablespoon of pre-ground seeds per mug of beverage (maybe a little bit more). Oh, that aroma!

Very good
I've been using this for my breakfast milkshake for almost a year now, no problems found.

Exemplary product, albeit a bit pricey.
Fresh and tasty with clear nutty flavor, no residual after taste. I use them to make my own version of “bagel-everything” topping. I like them so much I greatly increase the ratio of black to white seeds. By comparison the white seeds are virtually tasteless.
