Long Haul Comfort
My last pair of Newbies lasted 15 years with only the soles wearing thin. Those ancient 505's are now dirty project sneakers, because these new ones have become my daily's. + Great arch and heel support, with a good width for a secure footing. + Soles are a little stiff, great for uphill\stairs and that stompy feeling on flat\downhill. + Lightweight + The dadliest shoes ever made, because they're tough and super comfortable. + Still cheap. + Same style after decades. The new ones look pretty similar to my old pair, only much shinier\happier. After a month so far I have no complaints about these 510 V5's

Great trail shoe
Good sizing, 4E, well made and good grip on the bottom with toe protection at the front. Light and not heavy, these are why NB people always come back to the brand. Comfortable as an everyday shoe or long walks on the trail. Recommended if you can get your size. Update: shoe is still good and well.

Interesting - smaller size than the NB 410 but larger in fit
I ordered two pairs of shoes from NB both 9-1/2's extra wide - the 410's and these 510's. The 410 model showed up first and I had to return it as my toes were actually rubbing on the end of shoe. Replaced them with a size 10 and they fit perfectly. Just got the 510's this morning and the 9-1/2's are actually a bit longer than the size 10 410's I got as a replacement. Not dramatically bigger but bigger, nonetheless. I like both so I'm planning on keeping both, but it makes me wonder how the same manufacturer can make the same shoe and have what amounts to a full one size difference between the two? Other than this I really like this shoe as it is comfortable and provides good arch support. I always seem to come back to NB when I need new shoes as they seem to be one of the few that offer a wide shoe option and the shoes generally hold up well to the beatings I ultimately give them.

Very Good value for your money with Most New Balance
What I liked was the good fit, the good support, the decent style, and the realistic pricing. New Balance knows their audience well and and their products are of good quality. These shoes will not outperform and Brooks Catamount but you could buy a pair of these and buy 2 hours of foot massage. I was good with the styling better with the weight, even better with the fit. Now I will find out if thee shoes are real off trail shoes or pretenders. Good Joj New Balance quality and price balance is well maintained.

Best sneakers I ever owned
V5 version of these sneakers are perfect. Buy inserts to support arches. Too bad they no longer sell this version anymore. I'm now searching for another brand that can compare. V6, V7 and V8 versions so far do not compare. I'll wear this pair until I find another pair that's equal to its quality

NB's "Dad Shoes" for Trails
These look exactly like the stereotypical "dad shoes" NB makes, just with more grip and protection on outer sole. They are cushioned and roomy with plenty of space for your foot, and you won't have any issues going over rocks or rough terrain as the outer sole is pretty thick and stiff- not much flex in them, so your feet will "slap" when you walk. It's a bit too much for the average person that would be hiking, IMO. I do a lot of hiking and trail running and I wouldn't recommend these. If you're in the market for trail/hiking shoes I would recommend going to REI or your local running or outdoor store and talking to them about your needs and the type of trails you'll be walking on. The only way I would recommend these is if you're hiking through some serious technical trails. I don't mean a gravel or dirt path, I mean you're going through large areas of uneven and protruding rocks, or you're scrambling. While these are definitely cheap, there's better options out there.

New Balance for life!
I've been sporting New Balance for almost two decades now. They so comfortable. I'd rather buy these at half the price of Nike's or other brands and just buy some aftermarket insoles. I thought I'd try a pair of Columbia recently for work since since they were on sale and were supposed to be waterproof. My feet swell and the top of my feet bled. New Balance are the way to go. If you want extra support from the stock shoes, buy some New Balance aftermarket insoles from their stores or online. I bought some Dr. Scholl's memory foam inserts, but if you stand on your feet all day they don't last long. Good Feet are expensive, but if you stand on concrete all day, it'll pay for themselves in feet comfort in the long run.

Now, I have been buying shoes for $20 my entire life for work. Stupid...... These shoes were the first I have ever spent an obscene amount of money for and they are worth every penny. Pros: new looking, good cushion, Cons: too small (if you're size 11, get the 12's) I am a size 11 but my big toe and baby toe are squished at the end. It's a pain in the a$$ to return things so I kept them. Not great for flat feet. Souls are wearing out faster than most other shoes. The bottoms will wear out way before the actual shoe will.
