Hardcastle 4ft Solid Steel 1'' Weight Lifting Barbell Bar

This is a sturdy straight bar which is good value for the asking price, however as other reviewers have already mentioned, the spin lock collars come loose with ease. I am using the collars from my dumbbell set and they seem to work fine.Even if you had to buy a pair of spin lock collars separately this is still a good buy.Cheers

Unfortunately the bar which I received didn't match the dimensions stated in the product description.The threaded ends were actually 19cm, not 14cm as stated. Whilst this might seem like a tiny difference it meant that it wouldn't fit in the rack I was intending to use it with.I am now trying to work with the seller to return the bar and get a refund, which is proving to be quite a lot of hassel! The seller has promised to update the dimensions at some point (not done at time of writing).If your not bothered about the dimensions then I'm sure this bar would be fine.

For the price, this is very good. It's solid, and the length means I can safely lift in my box room without smashing any windows. I've used it multiple times a week for about six months now, and there are no signs of wear or damage at all.That said, I would not recommend this for somebody who is looking to start powerlifting. It's a baby-sized bar which is ideal for smaller people, small rooms, beginners and those intending to lift casually. I'm not sure whether it would fit into some racks, so you need to consider that. If you want to become a strongman, invest in a proper olympic barbell which you won't have to replace as you progress. Otherwise, this is brilliant for the money, and would allow an absolute beginner who couldn't yet handle a 45lb barbell to get started. The one minor annoyance is the clips, which tend to come loose during lifts. I've never had one fall off, but it is distracting. I usually use another set which fit better instead.

Can't complain considering the price, It came very quickly and it was well packaged (wrapped in bubble wrap, inside a cardboard box). My only complaint is that the collars do have a tendency to give and loosen, however if you have any spare collars you can double up to stop them from loosening, that is why personally it lost one star. Apart from that great product, and would recommend.
