Q: What is the water spigot made of? plastic? stainless steel? The description didn't say.

Stainless steel. Some reviews stated the spigot leaks. The spigot does not leak when both (2) washers are provided (one for the inside and one for the outside). I had ordered two water dispensers. One dispenser was missing a washer, which are put in place when attaching spigot. It became apparent both washers are needed to prevent leaking. I informed Amazon I believed the shortage of a washer is what caused the one dispenser to leak and subsequently a couple of negative reviews the product had received. Amazon requested the additional washer from seller as well as made them aware washers (2) are not being provided with every order causing the leak and negative reviews. I am VERY PLEASED with my purchases and would recommend this dispenser.

Q: Is it tested for purity and by whom?

In looking at the questions and their answers, the seller doesn't seem to give sensible answers. "Brass" is not an answer to the question of whether the item was tested for purity and by whom. "Brass" was their answer to "What is the spigot made of", even though Brass is a yellow metal and what we see looks like Stainless Steel. Now, What are what look like white nicks in the finish of one cup and the dispenser in 2 images? Are these plated, rather than solid Copper?
