Basically reverse charades, would be better with more players
We played Director's Cut with three players, and we had a lot of fun AFTER we changed the rules. I think this would make a better game with four or more players. It could also use more cards. So Director's Cut is basically reverse charades. The director calls out directions to the players chosen to act things out, and the actors and other players try to guess what they're doing. The director and the player(s) that guess correctly score points. The director has 90 seconds to go through as many cards in their hand as possible. There were only three of us when we first tested the game, and I went through all five cards in my hand the first time I got to be the director, which means game over. The rules clearly don't work for three players, so we shook things up.Our house rules? The director pulls cards out of the base and tries to get the other players to guess as many as possible within 90 seconds. This means the director is as surprised by the cards as anyone else, the director can't get stuck on one impossible card, and it's impossible to run out of cards. The only problem with these alternate rules is that the game doesn't give you enough cards. It's not like we ran out of cards entirely, but I think there are only enough for maybe 3-4 games before seeing repeat cards.Beyond that, the megaphone is a fun prop, and the game is a fun twist on charades. We definitely enjoyed it, though I'm not sure how much repeat play we'll get out of it.

Good Concept, Better for Elementary Kids
We liked the concept of a truly different concept for charades. But we found that everyone was guessing from the directions before the acting happened just like another reviewer said. So we started having the director whisper instructions but we could still hear them. And one sibling pair got frustrating with the bossiness dynamics, too. Still, it is a good concept for cooperative play and verbal skill development, but we haven't figured out how to perfect the game to overcome the preguessing issues.

Not our families first choice
We played this game with a group of 6, and we had mixed reactions from the family on how much they liked it. It is similar to charades, but only the director knows the word and not the actors. People often guessed correctly while the director gave directions before any acting took place. It was fun, but it will likely not be played often in our house. My wife, an education guru, mentioned that it was a good exercise for children to develop their verbal skills.

This game brings out the inner actor in everybody! SUCH FUN!
One of my favorite games of all times is charades. It is a classic, and any game that involves that and/or plain ‘ol acting in ANY way (as I was always quite dramatically gifted, and my girls are total drama queens .. ha ha), is right up our family’s alley. This is a beloved new game in our household. And who doesn’t wanna play like a Hollywood star and big time director💫? The real mega phone works to add to the fun of real Hollywood, by helping others to guess what is written on your cards by directing other players to act out your scenes and take a correct guess. If they don’t by 90 seconds, the director yells out ‘CUT’, and the game moves forward. It truly is a very fun, innovative twist on a traditional favorite game- one of the best of all time. I love it. The whole family does. It’s a game that you will play time and again, and if you ever get to the point where you run out of cards, make up your own cards with original ideas. That isn’t so hard. The possibilities are endless. This game is great family fun, a REPEAT playing game, which is huge when I consider a game for my kids or our entire family, and it truly is great bonding time for all. It’s well worth the current price of $26.99, and would make an excellent gift for the holidays!5+ stars! Super fun, funny AND entertaining. A triple threat 😉!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I hope that my review has proven helpful to you :).HAPPY HOLIDAYS and beyond!

Fun take on charades
This game is a bit like charades, but it has some essential differences. For one thing, it comes with a large selection of cards so there is no set up involved. For another, it's much faster paces, with 90 second rounds in which you try to convey as many of the ideas on the cards as possible. It's played individually, not in teams., One player gives directions to the other players, who perform the actions as directed until they figure out the words. This makes it a more active game than traditional charades, and for some people, the action will make it much easier to guess than when they're just watching someone else's movements. It's a quick, fun, and funny game. The packaging is very snazzy. We didn't use the megaphone to play, but it does actually work to concentrate the sound of your voice if you need that.
