What Does Baby Want?

A good teaching tool for slightly older kids to understand what breastfeeding is
This book always gets a good laugh when we show it to people, but it also serves a greater purpose. We used this book for our 3 year old son to understand what Mommy was doing when she was feeding our newborn. I think it's good to teach young boys (and girls) that breastfeeding is a normal and healthy activity. I have no evidence to support this, but hopefully this is a positive step towards teaching our son to respect women and not see boobs as objects.

Great addition to our bookshelf
My daughter is almost 2 and it started bothering me that all of her bedtime stories had only babies fed with bottles. I felt like our nursing relationship wasn’t represented and she couldn’t relate. I found a few books about nursing, but they seemed a little weird and others were more informative and above her age range. I stumbled upon this recommendation on a breastfeeding site list of books. I’m so happy that I took a chance and purchased it, because it’s now one of her favorites. The first night my husband read it to her, her eyes lit up recognizing breasts and nipples and a baby getting their milk before falling asleep. The story is very simple and basic for a baby or young child, the drawings adorable and colorful, and the unique shape and inclusion of breastfeeding are special. Thank you so much for making this book for breastfeeding babies and families!

Love reading this book to my toddler and infant
Love reading this book to my toddler and infant. They're both breastfed although my toddler is pretty much weaned. I will warn tho that the first time we read this book she cried at the end because she wanted to nurse too like the baby does. I like how it shows the concept of WHAT breastfeeding is for children. I also like that it doesn't shame using breastfeeding for comfort vs only food. I think that is important to highlight.

Great concept
My baby loves this book at 4 months old. He gets it.Update: baby is now 10 months and still loves this book. If I pull it out he squeals with delight. He smiles and laughs at it. I find him looking at it by himself. He gets it and can totally relate to it, being upset and comforted by breastfeeding. He understands the images of the babies emotions. There should be more breastfeeding in baby books. Visitors think its funny.

This is great for siblings of a BF baby.
My two older boys love this book and it is a simple acknowledgement of breastfeeding as “normal” to help siblings understand.

Hilarious
It’s the perfect but hilarious story of how it really is to breastfeed a baby! For everything that goes wrong with baby, breastfeeding seems to always be the answer!

Such a cute book
This is a must have for any house with a breastfed baby/child. We love to read this book together as a family and it's pretty accurate! Sometimes baby just needs mama's milk

Just what I was after
My boy loves this book. Want him to grow up knowing that boobs for babies is normal as-well as bottle fed, just depends on the situation.
