A very nice addition to my camera for recording audio
I bought this to be able to better adjust the audio from my wireless microphone to feed into my DSLR photo/video camera. The camera has no headphone jack and prior use for video work with the mic plugged directly into the camera has proven a bit lacking in audio levels. Now adding this mixer/amplifier between my mic receiver and camera has provided both a headphone jack so I can monitor the audio, as well as the ability to adjust the mic volume easily, plus a second mic input with it's own volume control. When testing my mixer, I found that about center on the volume adjustment provided the boost that I needed, so I have lots of adjustment either way if I should need it. The size and weight of the mixer was a concern, but it has also proven to be perfect for my need.

Well Built and Performed as Expected
Purchased for use with a cell phone for a FB Live event. Purchased a TRRS to TRS cable to connect iPhone. Worked well. Good sound quality. (Was using Bluetooth wireless mics plugged in to 1/4 inputs) Solid aluminum body, buttons And knobs are of good quality. Cold shoe rail on top and sides makes it very versatile. Worked as expected. Originally purchased the Saramonic SmartRig+ 2 but was sent a single channel twice instead of the dual channel. The build quality on that was cheap plastic and it was more expensive.

The thing breaks after only a few months of use.
I used this product to record segments for my broadcasting class and in the beginning, it was terrific. Great audio quality, easy to use, and perfect for me. Now, the second you plug in an XLR, the thing screeches and knocks like crazy. All of my audio is useless now and it's a hundred dollars down the drain.

This thing solves a lot of problems!
I am a video producer/director who does a lot of freelance gigs. I use this on my Canon 6d mark II to get around the lack of headphone port on the camera. Cool thing is you can use pro XLR mics AND you can use 1/8" mic (with phantom power!) AT THE SAME TIME! Excellent solution! Yes, one downside that some of commented on is that it burns the 9volt batts - but, I carry spares and am perfectly OK with it! High signal to noise ratio - no hum - clean signal. Just works.

Works great
Very good value. The right balance of size, price, and features. Provides a lot of options for connecting different sources. Provides phantom power, allowing me to use even more mics. Does not actually boost gain, which would be nice sometimes but I'm going to live without it. This unit adds a slight bit of noise to the signal, but really minimal. Been shooting with it on top of my Lumix G85, and it's totally manageable. The cold shoe slots on three sides are very useful.

Decent battery life and not so strong pre-amps.
I got this to supply phantom power to my AT 857R and it does the job. Battery life seems to sit around 2 hours which is useable, but do yourself a favor and use rechargables the 9vs get expensive. The preamps don't seem to have a ton of kick to them but it's light-years better than using the on board mic or those video mic style shotguns. It would be nice to have stronger pre-amps, but eh.

NICE BUDGET PREAMP/MIXER
I just received this today after returning another preamp that was fine but just didn't do it for me. First off the packaging was well designed, stupid thing to point out but I'm a sucker for that stuff. Nice box! Ahmm.....anyway this little guy is sturdy, nice metallic casing and you won't feel liek you'll break it by holding it too hard. I like the feel of the gain knobs, little clicks of resistance when you turn. Built in shoe mount with receptacles for aux. mounts on three sides. Nice! XLR and 3.5 mm inputs, line out and headphone jack. Strong signal. I will say on my tests onto a zoom H2N recorder that the signal directly into the zoom (using a rode micro shotgun) was stronger (same gain on zoom used with and without the sarmonic) but the control the sarmonic allows is a clincher, that and the ability to input multiple mics.Have not used with instruments or in a real shooting environment yet.The battery compartment is a but ridiculous and very hard to open.

Good deal
Nothing that I dislike strong, durable & nicely made

not worth the money
Do not buy this, find another alternative. One suggestion maybe a roland r-26 or a zoom h2n or such like.

Great value for money with easy modification.
Great value for money but you need to modify the back battery holder to fit a rechargeable 9volts battery with USB charger as per photo. Use a miniature rotary cutting bits to cut a clean opening. Battery will not last long and will ruined your filming recording session.
