Love the colors and they blend beautifully. The white pops over Regular watercolors when adding highlights to finishing touches to finalize a painting, my robin for Christmas is finished. Mom is going to love it. Now to finish the rough draft of my dad's old naval ship.

I really hoped that this "gouache" would actually be "opaque" and "vibrant" as the description states, but it is basically slightly thicker and more expensive craft acrylics in nicer tubes. The opacity was similar to my much cheaper craft paints in my tests and it's certainly not as opaque as a good acrylic paint. When used like watercolors it dries fast and leaves a gritty texture - I think even the craft paint looks better in that category. I was disappointed in the selection of colors in this set as the pinks were not very vibrant and the titanium white was extremely transparent and almost useless.

First, this is acrylic paint. It should not be called gouache or any other medium. This is false advertising of a fashion. Historically, this is a water medium paint comprised of natural pigment, water and a binding agent like gum arabic. It is meant to be opaque. Acrylic gouache dries waterproof and is not able to be rewetted and reworked. It is nothing more than acrylic paint with additives to ensure a matte finish. Shame on me for not reading the description better and more closely. Totally disappointed as this product is not compatible with encaustic, regular gouache or watercolor on top.
