My favorite of the series
This book literally took me all of May to read. 1012 pages down and now a wait until the next book comes out in September. The Ink Black Heart was my favorite book so far of the Cormoran Strike series.Robin and Cormoran are partners of a private investigative firm, and they are back at it with another strange murder case from Galbraith. This one is about a couple who create a web cartoon series that gets turned into a game. Unfortunately for one of them, their life is ended and people within the game are being killed as well. The creator of the game admits to the first murder, but no one knows who he is. Strike and Robin are not cyber investigators, but they do their best and solve who the creator of the game and serial killer is.I liked the characters in this book and the development of the recurring characters. The storyline was interesting and unique, and I did not find there to be any slow parts. Each new character had their own flaws and characteristics. There were multiple locations and events that occur that keep the reader guessing who the murderer is. I did not find it to be an easy solution. I look forward to book 7 of the series coming out in September. The previous 5 books were frustrating because it’s obvious that Robin and Cormoran might start a relationship. However, it was noted that the progression between the two is slow. Now book 6 was a little ‘in your face’ with their relationship issues and them constantly trying to figure out if they like each other more than business partners. It was a little annoying. And in the end, there’s no resolve. Besides that, the only other negative thing I found about the book was that Galbraith killed my favorite character off. I would still recommend it to read.★★★★★ Definitely recommend, but I recommend reading the series in order. Read the first 5 first.

Page-turner
Absolutely loved this book! Couldn't put it down. As for me, it's the best one so far in the series.

Outstanding!
Another page turner from the genius that is Robert Galbraith/JK Rowling. Each Strike book has been better than it's predecessor, and The Ink Black Heart is no different. Complex and fascinating, it closes the problem with a satisfying end, but leaves you waiting for the next instalment in true Rowling style. If you're new to the Strike series, I suggest you read them in order if only to understand the character arcs that run through the books. Unputdownable, one of those books that you want to finish to reach the end, while also not wanting the experience to end!

A goo read - but just too long
I have enjoyed this series a lot, especially because of the two main characters - Strike and Robin. I like the way their characters and relationship have developed over the series. I have liked some books more than others in the series, this being one that I have enjoyed more. It was easy to get into and it captured me right away. I read 300 pages in the first sitting, another 300 in the second sitting (the book has 1012 pages). However, at this point in the book, I began to slow down. As with the last two book in the series, it was too long, with too much information that really did not add to the whole. Too much time spent on the side characters who knew the murdered victim. Also, too many characters to follow, which makes the book rather long - too long, in fact. You spend about 1000 pages reading about all these characters trying to figure out who did it, full of red herrings, and then, right at the end (about 20 pages to go), you get your answer. It felt like a let-down, for it was the character she least spent time on (sorry if this will be somewhat of a spoiler, but I doubt it - too many characters).I truly think it had a great start, but it was just too long. It could do with a bit of cropping in the number of characters. Yes, she is great at developing characters - you get a really good sense of them - but when you have too many, you just get tired. Reason for the 4 stars.
