If there's one thing my husband's Italian family knows, it's olive oil.They were skeptical when I first gifted them with CA olive oil - but now, my mother-in-law looks forward to my shipments!This is a nice olive oil that's mild to those of us who love to drink the peppery stuff, but it's a solid all-purpose one that's good enough to use on salads or dip bread in, with a slightly grassy profile.I love that it's so affordable compared to well-known brands and I don't have to worry about the oil being rancid when I first open a bottle. Those well-known imports are inferior compared to this - and I'd stand by that statement wholeheartedly.The only thing about this purchase that caught me off guard was that the bottle is made of plastic. That's not really an issue since we run through oil so quickly, but it's definitely not the glass packaging that we're used to getting from this brand in their smaller sizes.

Best olive oil I have ever used, it's certified so you know it's actually the real deal. It is a green color and tastes amazing! The only issue I have with it is it's in plastic, I would prefer glass because I think all the plastic we use is contributing to cancer. I get this because it's expensive oil and this is a nice large size at a reasonable price so I deal with the plastic and I understand they are trying to make the bottle lighter but I really wish they would use glass instead.

Comes in a plastic bottle, just an FYI. Oil is top notch.

Halelujah for olive oil that's American grown! After seeing the program on 60 Minutes and reading in numerous reliable places about most of the olive oil coming out of Italy being fake, I decided to boycott Italian olive oil until Italy gets it's act together and cracks down on the fraud. This olive oil has a good flavor and I know I'm not eating mystery food on a daily basis. I use the Rich and Robust flavor when I want a more assertive taste, but the Everyday one in the plastic bottle is my daily go-to. As for the plastic bottle , I decant this oil into my own glass bottles, throw the plastic in the recycling bin and forget about it. When I want extra special olive oil for drizzling, I but another California grown brand that's much more expensive and not practical for daily use as this one is.

This is the only cooking oil my picky son will use for cooking. He likes its sources and quality and will not buy expensive Italian Olive oil because of the "Olive oil" mafia in Italy that substitutes cheap Olive oil for what the bottle claims. Google it and you will find this to be true. He also likes how it cooks without easily burning and likes its flavor. So, though it is expensive, it seems worth the money for our budding chef!

I used to be a chef and a total Foodie. Nowadays, not as much, but I still love and appreciate great foods and excellent ingredients. This is decent-quality, reasonably-priced EVOO. It's not the lightest weight or the most delicately flavored oil out there, but it gets the job done. I also like Trader Joe's Kalamata Olive Oil, if that rings any bells....

The last big bottle of this brand that I purchased from Amazon was a total delight. Unfortunately, it seems that now this brand is not what it recently was, and that it has now become just another bait and switch. The stuff Amazon sent me was labeled "The American Blend." The label states that the contents were pure olive oil, including olive oil imported from several Latin American countries. This does not seem to be the case, rather the product seems to have been blended with some sort of less-expensive non-olive oil. This product has a lower viscosity than pure olive oil, does not "sit on my stomach" comfortably like pure olive oil, and leaves me with a mild sense of malaise after consuming it, most unlike pure olive oil. I seem to have been swindled. Time to try another brand and hope for better results. Yuck! UPDATE: THIS COMPANY IS NOT LISTED AS A CURRENT MEMBER OF THE NORTH AMERICAN OLIVE OIL ASSOCIATION.

I have happily used this oil for a long while, but was very disappointed upon purchasing the largest and most expensive size to discover that it is suddenly in a plastic bottle. All the smaller sizes are in glass. I don't want plastic in my oil. Why am I paying more for a big size and getting inferior quality?
