Very good quality. The bottom silicon external layer also can prevent cracking of the glass if it briefly hits the table or something.

The carafe which came with my Water Distiller broke due to the poor design and a metal screw on lid which did not fit correctly. The metal bands which held the handle on were sloppy and also a problem, always loose and sliding around the carafe. I bought two others replacement carafes which were of poor quality and came damaged! This carafe by SheRex is of high quality, handle strong and secure, and the lid is easy to put on and off and also made well. Highly recommend this carafe and would give it more than five stars if possible!!

The Glass Carafe is excellent, but the handle is loose and impossible to tighten for a close fit. it takes two hands to use and to also manage a loose lid. The metal bands that hold the handle onto the Carafe need to be made to fit properly around the carafe.

The quality of materials is first-rate all the way around. It comes with a non-slip base that helps cushion it on the counter. Assembling the steel bands for the handle requires at least 3 hands The product would be better if it was shipped assembled. The pour spout is also very shallow. If the carafe is very full, water will dribble all over the front surface. In any case, you have to pour very slowly to keep from spilling. Do not even attempt to pour with the plastic cover in place or water will shoot everywhere you don't want it. It fits perfectly under my old Sears countertop distiller. The lid has a flip-up cover near the spout that nestles right against the fill nozzle there is no loss during distilling operations. This carafe functions well if you remember to remove the cover and pour VERY slowly. The spout really needs to be wider and more deeply formed.
