Easy to set up, works well, IMO reasonably priced and surprisingly versatile
Bought to control a set of three Hue lights in one room... Set-up was easy and went without any problems; pull out the plastic tab to "activate" the battery and the switch powered up in "setup" mode ready to pair with the Hue bridge. The battery cover is held by a screw so "inquisitive little fingers" shouldn't be able to open it too easily... Wall mounting plate stuck fiurmly to a painted wall uding the provided adhesive strips; the plate is narrower and taller than a regular light switch (so can't be used to cover/hide an existing switch). But there are may third-party switch covers available for that purpose (holding one or two dimmer switches). The magnetic grip" of the plate is sufficient to hold the dimmer switch in place, and the switch and plate have a locating ridge to make sure the switch is put into the plate the right way up. When detached from the plate (and being used as a "remote control") the switch is IMO sufficiently large that it shouldn't be too hard to find if it was dropped on the floor, went "down the back of the sofa", etc. The buttons are a decent size and the "1" and "0" on the on/off buttons very clearly marked. One thing missing, that IMO would have been nice to have, is some raised identification dots on the buttons to help those who were visually impaired. When setting up using the Hue app, it can be confighred to control all lights, or single rooms (only up to 2 rooms - the Hue app states that is the maximum to ensure responsiveness). Greater "granularity" of control, such as individial lights isn't possible without workarounds (e.g. get creative with "rooms" and "zones". One feature that I wasn't initially aware of is the ability to select scenes via multiple presses of the "on" button - up to 5 successive presses can be programmed; the default is "last 'on' state". I used this feature to give a useful control over a ceiling light and a pair of wall lights (all three lights in the same "room"), I needed to use two built-in default scenes + three user-created ones: i. First push - all lights ON (Dimmed - default scene) ii. Second push - all lights ON (Bright - default scene) iii. Third push - Ceiliing light ON (bright), wall lights OFF (user-created scene) iv. Fourth push - Ceiling light ON (dimmed), wall lights OFF (user-created scene) v. Fifth push - Ceiling light OFF, wall lights ON (dimmed) (user-created scene) A further push begins the cycle again.

No hesitation.
Used with the Hue bridge, this is so useful. Firstly, you're either wanting to know if it works, how easy to install and the quality, or you're just curious if you need one, or like me you need a reason to justify buying one. It works flawlessly and so easy to set up using the hue app (which incidentally you really should get). I was concerned about whether it would be big and bulky and look cheap. Also I wasn't certain that I wanted another switch on the wall. It doesn't look cheap, in fact it looks really modern and I'd change all my switches to these if I could. The quality of the plastic is fantastic, it's smooth and soft edges. So, it's worth every penny for style, looks, quality and function. Do you need one? Absolutely yes. If you're tired of asking Alexa or Google to turn off the light and can't get out of the habit of hitting the light switch, you need one. Sometimes you want to just quietly turn on, off or dim the light without using your voice. And although I've not needed to remove it from the surround and use it as a remote, it works well if you need to. I've just ordered a second one without hesitation. Just set up my second switch, it took less than a minute. Please hit the helpful button if I have been. Thank you.

It's an essential part of any Phillips Hue setup
I bit the bullet and finally purchased a Phillips Hue setup this Spring. It was quite a costly upgrade, but I'd been monitoring them for some time and saw a 20% off opportunity on Amazon. I'll review bulbs separately, obviously, but just wanted to say that these switches have been an outstanding bit of kit for the money. Considering they are "only" £20 (less if catch on sale) I think they are great. Basically if you have a Hue setup I'd recommend strongly you get at least one of these (one for each room) Once you've setup your lights on the Phillips Hue app, you can add the dimmer switch and "assign" specific bulbs to it. For example: I have one marked for all the bedroom bulbs, and another for living room lighting. You can incorporate all the different hue lights to one switch (e.g I have B22, E27 and a strip LED section in the living room - all controlled on one dimmer) The switch itself is portable and fits nicely in the hand. It looks modern and stylish. You can also leave it in the housing (attaches magnetically) if you prefer to have a more traditional looking switch. The housing attaches to surfaces in several ways 1) Magnetically (presuming have an appropriate surface) 2) By screwing bracket to wall/units 3) By using (included) sticky adhesive strips - I attached using method three and the bracket hasn't moved an inch since (stuck to painted unit) The buttons themselves have a couple of uses. Obviously you can turn the assigned lights on/off using the I/O buttons, and you can dim them using the two * buttons. BUT, you can also (via app) assign your 5 favourite lighting "scenes" to the remote. All you have to do is press the "I" button again and it goes to the next stored light configuration you saved. If you then turn off the lights the remote will remember the last setup you used. So, you can have a press assigned for general lighting, reading, movies, kids and whatever else takes your fancy. It really is up to you. I feel that my experience with Hue lighting would be largely hindered without these devices. Lets face it, turning lights on with your phone is great for an option, but not a permanent solution. Offering this traditional switch is a great touch, and it obviously does so much more than most people would guess looking at it. 5* product for sure.

L'ultimo tasto è OFF. Consigliatissimo.

Responds quick on the bluetooth-only. I recently integrated into the whole hue center setup. Feels like a quality remote. I like this better than the new model because this has individual on and off buttons.
