Q: Is this safe to use on a glass top electric range?

Yes it is! - That is the kind of range I currently have - and have used this multiple times on it with no ill effects to either the pan or the glass top electric range.

Q: What is the weight of this pan? Trying to determine if it will be able to sit in my cabinet drawer designated for pans.

Q: If you have a glass cooktop (not induction) have you had any luck cooking pancakes? Mine do not come out evenly cooked.

I have glass and the heat is definitely more noticeably uneven with this skillet than my other cast iron because it is square and my burners are round. I, however, love this skillet. It took a little trial and error, but I use it for pancakes, eggs over easy, even burgers (so good!)The key is to give it time to come up to temperature and for it to disperse as evenly as possible. I do end up rotating pancakes and burgers before the flip to get the heat even, and it requires patience and a good recipe because they've got to be set before the rotation.

Q: Lodge has grill pans with ~ 1.5" sides and essentially no sides -- what are the advantages/disadvantages of each?

I have both. I like the "no sides" because you can turn food easily and is large enough for more hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. I like the "sides" because it is deeper and less splattering of oil on the stovetop. Both are great.
