I bought the lodge cast iron pan and needed a handle sleeve to from the heat. It did its job well.

I’d assumed these items were intended to be slipped on and off when handling the pan, not left on during cooking. My mistake. The slim taper half way along the neck precludes this. Pushing it on to the (Lodge) pan handle requires two hands, as does removing it, so it has to be left on. Which presumably is what it was intended for after all. Bearing in mind that it comes with a warning ‘no direct flame‘, this would seem to be a questionable concept. Also of course, if you leave it on the pan, according to other reviews, it gets hot. Just a straight sleeve that can slip on and off would be better. Back to the oven glove for me then.UPDATEi’ve been using this for some months now, and it’s okay. I leave it on the pan and draw the sleeve back a little bit to keep it away from the flame. It seems fine. I’ve upgraded the rating to 3 stars.

Delivered on time as described it fits my small cast iron pan and protects my hand from any heat perfect for the job .

It's pretty effective. If you are cooking at an extreme temperature for a very long time it might get too hot to hold but if you are just going to fry up a steak or some bacon and eggs it works just fine. I took a star off becuase I kind of feel like they should be included with the pan.

Very useful object to stop my hands burning. Fits my lodge and my other small cast iron pans.Love it, typing this review with my lovely non-burnt fingers.

They fit my 10inch and 12inch utopia kitchen cast iron skillets really well. A little bit of a tight squeeze to get on at first but they fit well and are great for keeping the heat at bay whilst moving pans between the stovetop and oven.

This would have been excellent but it was too narrow for my handle

Seems well enough made but it is far too snug to be able to put on the handle while the cast iron is hot.
