Told you a rubber was safe, right ??
Hate nto nag on about my disabilities, but i am going to have to here. This is a useful opener. It is soft, you can squeeze it into a ball in your hand it is so maleable. Yes, it does open Jars - jars the size of the HUGE beetroot jars, that's how big it goes. One thing i will moan about now is, the bigger the item, the more this crafty opener needs aid to open what needs opening. I will explain. Opening a bottle, it slips over the bottle neck, squeeze the soft opener to fit placing the tip onb the top of the bottle and twist. Now go to a bigger item - if you aren't disabled you won't guess it, but here it is - the bigger the lid, the more your 1st and 2nd hand have to help, now i may be a bad case, but my arthgritis leaves me with no strength, that coupled with a stroke and loss of strength i am stumped. So i have no strength to grasp the opener enough to open the jar top, but also what holds the jar still?? Yep, you got it....it needs 2 parts. I used a rubber glove to pop the jar on then pused it down with the jar opener and when it was firm and didn't move, i twisted the top....it worked, but as it was sold it was no good for the disabled i am afraid. I gave it a 3, there was NO way that would have worked had i not come up with the rubber glove stand. Though in saying these problems, it can work just maybe for able bodied. So don't make it out to be an aid for the disabled, it isn't

A great help removing lids from jars and bottles.
A lot of us lose some strength in our hands and wrists as we get older, I already have one and find it a huge help in the kitchen, so I bought this one for a friend and she finds it a great asset in the kitchen. They are useful for all ages, as some jar tops are hard to remove even for younger stronger people-everyone should have one in their kitchen!

Increases grip not leverage
A flexible funnel of rubbery material that gives you a better grip on jar lids.Very simple and useful for medium sized screw top jars. Still needs dexterity and a strong grip to open the jar

Simple but a boon
This simple cup device is a boon, not only to my elderly relative but, even to me when you get that jar of pickled onions which has a lid that acts as if it was superglued on. we have had one for about six years and you be surprised how many times it has come to the rescue

Good item.
You never see the day coming when you will need one of these. Overnight, it seems, one loses the strength in one's wrists as one ages. This is the ideal tool to help open jars. Simple and effective.

... of spring water as our tap water is not nice. However
We buy 5ltr bottles of spring water as our tap water is not nice. However, the ghastly caps are a literally a pain to get open and this little piece of moulded silicon has made all the difference. Very well made and extremely useful on jars and bottles etc. Wish we'd bought one earlier.
