Great for children to learn maths skills
I bought this mainly for my 3-year-old son, but I think it is great for any preschool to primary school aged child. My 3-year-old absolutely loves this, and although it is quite pricey, it is very well made and there is no limit to the number of games you can make up and play with this set. We do sorting, counting, memory games, odd-one-out games, sharing, or simply putting everything in the pie and putting it in the "oven" (the box!). It comes with two big pairs of tweezers for improving fine motor skills, and 60 pieces of fruit in 5 different colours. I also use this with my older 2 primary aged children as a visual aid to help understand slightly more complex mathematics. Although it is not the cheapest of toys, I really feel like we have got our money's worth from this toy, and will do for years to come. As a previous reviewer suggested, it is probably wise to keep away from children younger than 3, and my son only plays with this supervised by me as we have younger children and he is good as losing little bits or posting them around places that only a toddler can find!

Excellent learning resource and fun toy.
Used for counting, colour recognition and imaginary food making by my grandson. The pieces are all very well made. The fruits are solid and bright. The pincers help with fine motor skills and add a fun element to the pie. Really good quality toy. Would buy again as a gift.

fruity fun
Bought for my class of SEN pupils who love the sorting pie. Good quality materials and attractive to the eye - and the tweezers make a fun challenge for those who are slightly better with their fine motor skills. I particularly like the way that you can change the challenge by placing a different insert in the base.

Fabulous educational toy
This is a great learning toy. My two aged 2.1 and 6.2 love this, it was opened straight away and led to several hours of play (a rarity to find something that keeps them busy so long) as a home educating family this helps youngest with colours fruit numbers sorting and fine motor skills. With oldest he does the same but we also do patterns, sums, numbers. They both love it. And so do I! It's well made, the fruit pieces are made of a rubber material which the children love, instead of the usual hard plastic you get with toys. The detail on them is fabulous. There are 3 double sided activity cards that come with it which keep our two entertained but you could easily make more for older children with sums and problems on etc. This is a toy I cannot fault and is worth every penny.

Versatile, educational, endless source of fun!
Great quality toy.The fruit counters are made of a nice tactile rubber-like material. It's more child friendly than normal plastic toys, plus less chance of breaking the fruit. There're 3 double-sided cards, one with numbers 1-5 on one side, 6-10 on the other one. second card has got colours on one side, and white shapes of fruit on the other one. third card's got coloured pictures of fruit on both sides. You lift up the bottom of the pie and the card slots easily in. There're 2 big tweezers for picking up the fruit with - the size is perfect for little hands and my 3 year old finds them easy to use. There's also a card with a few ideas how to play/use the pie. We've already done plenty of pie baking, plus used the fruit for the shop games, feeding the animals on the farm, rolling fruit down the tube all of it mixed with naming the colours, fruits, counting and laughing. The only thing i'd says it's hard to keep track of all the small pieces as they easily get moved from one game to the other.

A hit with my 2yr old
Recommended for ages 3+ but I got this for my son on his 2nd birthday and he loves it. So far it has been good for practicing colours, counting and sorting as well as learning to use the tweezers. I'm sure that he will enjoy coming back to this again and again for years to come, especially when he starts to learn maths. In terms of quality it is great. The fruit are solid, slightly rubbery feel but not the kind of rubber that will pick up dust and the pie plastic seems sturdy enough to cope with being dropped a few times/ generally being handled by toddlers.

An excellent educational sorting toy
I wouldn't have bought this had my daughter not specifically asked me to get it for her son. I always worry about small things being swallowed however, if supervised, children will get a great deal of pleasure from this. It can be sorted by colour or shape, counted, matched and also improves hand and eye co-ordination with the use of the tweezers. Expensive but a real quality peice of equipment which should provide years of hard wear - if you don't get them up the vacuum cleaner :-)

Bit disappointed due to missing counters
My autistic child loved this toy at friends' house so ordered one. Unfortunately the set we received had two of the yellow counters missing so after the initial excitement this rapidly became very annoying due to lack of the two counters and it is now sitting on shelf gathering dust. The toy itself is well made and the concept is good.

Bra sorterings leksak. Små färgstarka frukter kan blir farliga för barnen.

My kids love this game, 3&4 and play with it everyday, as per its intention and as a broader toy in food preparation/picnics. It comes with a couple of different cardboards that fit under the pie tin that indicates the type of game to play (eg sort in colours, sort in types of fruit, sort by number of fruits). The one bug bear is that both of the tongs it comes with doesn't open very wide and while this makes it easier to pick up skinner fruit this makes it harder for the larger fruits. Would also be great if Learning Resources sell the fruit on its own as it is easy to lose some. Otherwise was surprised at how much of a hit this was.

Such a nice toy for children who love to sort or discover colors. The quality is so good, parts are weighted, and big enough not to be swallowed. Will definitely recommend and purchase again!
