The Small Vera Tote is very close to the Villager. But the one big difference in the two is, THE VILLAGER is sold only in the Vera Bradley Stores found only in those high end, brand name Outlet Malls. And the SMALL VERA TOTE is sold only in brand name local stores, such as Macy's, Dillard's, Hallmark, Vera Bradley locations, etc. The Outlet Malls have their own line of patterns in the Villager. Brand name stores and Vera Bradley stores have their own line of patterns for the Small Vera Tote. So if you see a Villager tag on a pattern you like, it is a bag that originally came from a Vera Bradley Outlet Mall Store. Small Vera Tote's are in patterns that you can see on the Vera Bradley websites. Hope this helps as it it a confusing situation. ey
