Very good product!
This steam generator iron is much better than the previous one which was an earlier model by Morphy Richards which ceased up. It was packaged well arrived very quickly. Very convenient detachable water tank with 2L capacity, ceramic sole plate, quick heating up time, facility for locking the iron so that the whole unit can be carried as one are all good improvements from the older model. The biggest plus point is the auto cleaning facility which works well. I am using 50/50 mixture of de ionised water and tap water as suggested in the instruction. Irons most of our clothing well too with mid steam level which means less frequent water top up. Only denim jeans and linen need high steam. The icing on the cake is the 35% savings on the price in Amazon. Very happy with the product!

Best Iron ever!!
i love this iron. I now have 2 as I have second home and would like a further one to use abroad. I have tried all different generators and this is by far the best.Clean, easy , lightweight iron, safe to carry and store way as iron locks onto the base. Makes ironing so much easier on any fabric whether very dry or slightly damp. And doesn't burn clothes. Also the descaling feature is amazing - no fuss - just gets on with it when needed. Bravo Morphy Richards this is a winner!

'So far...not so good'...in fact 'not really good so far at all'
Unfortunately 'So far...not so good' I ordered one of these from Morphy Richards, through Amazon. I bought it to replace my old steam generator iron (which had both continuous steam & steam boost), as this was advertised as having both of these, & as it was also described on the manufacturer website as having a steam spray (which many other models do not). I tried it as soon as it arrived, to find that the steam boost didn't work properly - it produced the same level of steam as the 'continuous steam' function, although it was supposed to be almost double the output, & also with no or very little difference between the 3 variable continupus steam settings. In addition, the iron didn't appear to get very hot, & seemed to need to be on maximum to even get to a mid-temperature (thus not drying the steam sprayed & therefore leaving items feeling wet-though). I therefore arranged a replacement & tried this when I received it, only to find the same problem with the steam boost! I contacted Morphy Richards & as expected they confirmed that the 'steam boost' should be much more powerful than the 'continuous steam' as it's supposed to produced 300g of steam as opposed to just 170g. They suggested that I try turning the temperature dial back & forth quickly a few times whilst the iron was on, & then try the boost again to see if this rectified the fault, although they weren't confident it would...they advised that if there was no change after that, I should contact Amazon again in order to arrange another replacement as this unit appeared to be faulty too. Unfortunately, doing as they suggested made no difference whatsoever. When I also asked about the 'water spray' function described on their website (which appeared to be missing from the iron), they admitted that this was an error in the description/ specification details on their website, & said they would update the page to remove this - I checked the page a little later, & the page had been amended to remove the details of this feature (although I have attached a screenshot of the page, which I took before my call).

Good steam iron with some very good features
I didn't like this iron at first because the handle was different to my old one and it didn't feel comfortable in my hand and the iron doesn't sit flat on the generator between uses because of the security clip. It also takes longer to be ready for use than my previous Philips steam generator. I have come to like it with use however, it does a good job and I like the ability to vary the steam application from 1 - 3. I tend to use setting 2 for most things and setting 3 for putting creases into trousers and ironing jeans. This iron also descales itself when it needs it and all you have to do is pour away the dirty water produced by the sequence. The iron clips onto the top of the generator securely so you can carry it by the handle with no risk of dropping the iron off the top of the generator, something I did several times with my old one. When the generator needs more water it will start to beep at you with increasing frequency which rather makes the low water warning light redundant! Overall a very good product that I would give 4.5 stars if I could

So far it is working well (edited to add it died after 2 years)!
5 star to begin with: So far so good, after 4 months of use. This is the third steam generator I have bought in about 5 years as none of them seem to last very long, despite only ever using deionised water. This is, however, the first Morphy Richards iron I have bought. So far it is working well, with a good level of steam delivery and it is very useful being able to add water to the tank without having to turn it off and cool it down, as I had to with my previous machine. The iron is a good size and the tank is large. The locking feature to enable you to carry it around is great. The only minor criticisms are that the machine is loud when generating steam, but thankfully only does this briefly every five minutes or so. It also has a very slight delay when you release your finger from the steam button, but that doesn't matter. I will update this review when the machine dies, which it surely will, to give an indication of its longevity! Edited on 03/04/18 to say that the machine has sadly died. It flooded with water from the bottom while heating up and then started failing to heat up and water also came out of the hand held part of the iron. Very disappointing as I have looked after it carefully. Have reduced my review from 5 star to 3 as a result. I am not sure whether to risk buying another one.
