Great colored pencils for adult coloring!
I purchased these for a festive work luncheon to have at the table for adult coloring and doodling while chatting, meeting, and eating. Everyone loved the pencils, and one of my coworkers even said this is her favorite brand of colored pencils that she has at home. The pencils are bright, vivid, and the perfect level of softness. Because they aren't too hard/dense, they color smoothly and blend well! There are a ton of different colors and the value for this set is great. The pencils worked perfectly and everyone had a great time!

Nice pencils at an affordable price for Art Therapy.
Delivered this box of 72 pencils to my elderly grandmother who is now in LTC. She LOVES all the brilliant color choices, and the smooth application. She doesn't have to press down so hard to color, making it much easier for those with arthritis. The only problem is the cardboard box. It's not easy for an elderly person to remove the pencils, it's too flimsy, She needs a firm box that can open up and display all the selections. Today I ordered (from Amazon) a fold out canvas carrier that should work, securing all the pencils and preventing damage by needlessly dropping them. I will transfer these pencils for her to start Art Therapy as soon as they arrive.

Vibrant and Blendable for My Daughter's Adult Coloring, Soft Core Perfection
I appreciate art supplies that help my daughters unwind creatively. I bought the KALOUR 72 Count Colored Pencils for Adult Coloring Books—Soft Core, Ideal for Drawing Blending—for my 16-year-old, who enjoys detailed coloring books, and they've been a favorite for her intricate designs. Design and Variety: This set includes 72 vibrant colored pencils in a wide range of hues, from bold primaries to subtle pastels, all pre-sharpened with hexagonal barrels for a comfortable grip during long sessions. The soft core provides smooth laydown without excessive wax buildup, and the tin case keeps them organized and portable for her desk or travel. Performance and Blending: The pencils blend beautifully for shading and gradients in her adult coloring books, layering easily without streaks—perfect for creating depth in floral or mandala patterns. The soft core is ideal for drawing finer details on my wavy-haired daughter's sketches, holding a point well yet sharpening smoothly. Colors are rich and true, popping on paper without fading quickly. Durability and Comfort: They've held up to frequent use without breaking leads, and the ergonomic shape reduces hand fatigue during extended coloring. Cleanup is minimal, as they don't smudge much on her light skin if she tests shades. The 72-count offers endless combinations for her artistic experiments. Pros: Softcore excels at blending and smooth coloring. 72 vibrant colors for diverse adult book projects. Sturdy tin storage and pre-sharpened tips. Comfortable for detailed drawing sessions. Cons: Sharpening is required more often for fine points. The tin case could have dividers for better organization. Final Thoughts: These KALOUR colored pencils are ideal for adult coloring and blending, giving my daughter hours of creative joy with their soft, vibrant performance. I love how they've inspired her art time, and I'd highly recommend them for anyone seeking quality pencils for detailed work.

Vibrant, Relaxing, and Great for Coloring Therapy
Coloring has become one of my favorite ways to relax — especially when I need to slow down and think. It’s like a mini meditation session, and this KALOUR 72-count colored pencil set has made that experience even better. The pencils are smooth, soft-cored, and highly pigmented, which means you don’t have to press hard to get beautiful, vivid color. They glide across the page easily and blend nicely, which is great for adult coloring books or even basic sketching. What I especially appreciate is that each pencil is labeled with its number and color name — it makes organizing and picking the right shade really easy. Plus, the wide variety of 72 colors means I can always find just the tone I’m looking for to bring the pages to life. The quality of the wood is also nice — they sharpen well and don’t crumble or splinter. They feel sturdy but soft enough to allow smooth layering and shading. If you're someone who colors to relax or is just getting into it, I highly recommend this set. It's beginner-friendly but doesn’t compromise on pigment or feel. A great gift for yourself or any coloring enthusiast!

Great Affordable pencil
I purchased these pencils in order to try them before I got a set for my friend as a present. I found the Kalour pencils an excellent product. They are soft core pencils which some don’t care for, however, I draw more as a hobby and found that the pencils blended well in my drawings and worked well together for what I wanted to do. I did have some issues with sharpening the pencils when I used an electric sharpener. For these pencils it is probably best to sharpen them with a manual pencil sharpener which is no issue for me. These pencils were great for my projects and the set was lightweight and easy to carry. The box did tear though so I ended up spilling them all over the floor. I would recommend getting a case to carry them in if you intend to travel with them. I am also glad that when I want to draw while traveling I do not have to worry about losing these pencils. When I drew a sunset landscape with them the colors blended and layered quite well. For the price of these pencils I was honestly expecting lower quality than what I received. The pencils are about what you would expect for cheap, beginner pencils. For what I wanted to create I was pleased. Looking forward to giving my friend a set of these pencils, with any luck I should be able to get her to draw a bit more often.

Great pencils, especially for the price
I love KALOUR colored pencils. This is the second set I purchased as I do use them a lot. I have a large set of Prismacolor but use the KALOUR much more frequently. I color in adult coloring books purely for my pleasure. KALOUR are so easy to use, soft with coloring, and I find they layer reasonably well. I currently use a lot of green shades and this set has a nice variety of green and other colors. I have not had an issue with lead breaking and they sharpen easily. I keep them in a plastic container where the set of 72 fits well.

Decent Pencils, But Flaws Exist
These pencils offer good colors and are fine for blending and shading, but I can't give them a perfect rating. I had quite a few pencils with fractures in the core. This makes them a bit frustrating to sharpen and use, but they are otherwise a decent set for the price.

“My son’s little artist dream just got brighter!”
I bought the KALOUR 72 Count Colored Pencils for my son, who’s always had a creative spark — drawing everything from superheroes to sunsets. He’s been using random pencils before, but when I saw this big set with 72 colors and such great reviews, I figured it was time to get him something real. When the box arrived, his eyes literally lit up! The pencils come neatly organized, every color labeled with a number and name — it makes him feel like a “professional artist.” The variety is amazing — from soft pastels to rich, deep tones — and he can now shade, blend, and mix colors just like he sees in his art videos. The soft core really stands out. The pencils glide so smoothly on paper — no scratching, no breaking, even when he presses a little too hard (which he usually does 😄). The colors are vivid and layer beautifully, perfect for blending sky shades or giving life to characters. He spends hours at his desk now, with the pencils spread out like a rainbow. He says, “These feel like real artist pencils, not school ones.” Honestly, it’s amazing to see how proud he looks showing off his drawings — and the fact that they’re non-toxic and safe gives me peace of mind too. After a few weeks, none of them have broken while sharpening (and he’s sharpened them a lot). The basswood is smooth and sharpens easily without splintering. Even his teacher mentioned that his coloring work looks more “alive.” For under $13, this set feels like something worth much more. It’s not just a bunch of pencils — it’s like a box full of inspiration. If your kid (or even you!) loves drawing, sketching, or coloring books, this set is 100% worth it. It’s durable, beautiful, and makes creativity fun again. My son now calls it his “artist dream set.” ❤️
