This is a great set, and provides plenty of opportunity for open ended play. It’s kept our crew occupied for hours at a time.There’s plenty of straws/connectors and even two sets of four wheels, one large and a smaller set.It was pricier than I wanted to spend but the quality is actually very good. Delivery was quick as well, as it wasn’t a prime delivery. I also liked that the shipping packaging was a reused box from another item, I always try to reuse postage bags and boxes so it was nice to see this being done.I also like the fact the whole thing comes with a good quality storage tub to keep them all in.

Purchased for a 6-year-old's birthday. It kept several young children (and a couple of adults!) occupied most of an afternoon. A particular attraction was that from the relatively small and simple components it's possible to make large structures - even reaching the ceiling. The only down side is that the connectors are quite small and can easily get lost under furniture etc. They could also be a choking hazard to any toddlers who may be around. The kit comes in one sturdy plastic box with a locking lid, but there are no separate compartments for different components, so it's worth adding a couple of small containers to hold the connectors. It remains to be seen how durable the straws will be with frequent assembly and dismantling. Overall, a simple toy that allows young children to be creative and use their imagination, with rewarding results.

Really good toy! Bought for my 7year old who loves building and I'm sure also hads ADHD. His attention span flits from one thing to another unless his building something. Most of his toys are small, so we thought we'd buy him this which would allow him to make much larger models (and hopefully keep him occupied for longer). It's ticked that box with a large tick, not sure for how long, but for now it's his favourite toy and his imagination has been flying. The great thing about these is that he can build something he can get into and that leads to alsorts of imaginative play. The straws can also be cut if you need shorter lengths.Only con the straws have to be connected well otherwise they do have a tendency to come off.Thought i'd come back to this review just to say its been 7 yrs since and although he has grown out of them, he did use them for several yrs and they have lasted. Now we use them to preoccupy kids of family and friends. Its was a great buy

These straws are brilliant! My daughter (aged 6) has played with them for hours and made some huge constructions with them. There are so many straws and connectors so she can make endless creations. She has also made 2D/3D shapes for school work using them. They come in a very strong, good quality storage box and there is a leaflet with ideas for things to make. I would really recommend to children of all ages 3+ (as my 2 year old finds it hard to join them together.)

Good fun and educational. My kids love building stuff and love this. It does take some time, but I like that. We have built lots of dens! When reviewing on sturdiness I gave 4 stars, it really depends on your construction style and expectations. It is only plastic straws so its never going to be robust, it forces you to use your skills to make it strong enough - its part of the fun. You can put a sheet over your dens but not a blanket. My 7 year old is fine building independently (though I do like to get involved) my 4 year old needs me to build with him.

This set comes in a really practical case that fastens well and has a handle to easily carry it. There are plenty of sticks and adaptors to build all sorts and once built, most structures are sturdy enough to throw a blanket over to make a den/house/boat/bus... One improvement could be to put more ideas of things to build in the enclosed booklet but then I suppose the imagination just has to pull it’s weight. Definitely recommend!

As a adult, I enjoyed this as much as my 4 year old daughter!!! It makes creativity come to life! I was proud of the massive den I made!

Really great activity for children to get stuck into. My 5, 5 and 7 year olds spend ages constructing all sorts of large scale models. Plenty of straws and connecting pieces to build what they want to. The straws are not at all flimsy and hold up to lots of assembling and disassembling. The bits come in a sturdy box too which is really handy for storage.
