Cat-Ears are the best selling and most effective Wind Noise* reduction products of their kind - see comparative analysis. They have been independently tested / recommended by Bicycling, Bike Radar, Road Bike Review, and Outside Magazines.Introduced in 2012, the 'CLASSIC' is our original Acoustic (WNR) Faux Fur based product designed for Casual to Competitive Cyclists.Based on proven audio aero-acoustics, Cat-Ears are made from materials that 'quiet and diffuse' oncoming wind - making the shear layer gentle and causing the noise producing turbulence to move away from your ears.Cat-Ears products are sound permeable for safe road cycling. "Wind Noise can inhibit one's ability to distinguish traffic noise, often a first line of defense in an urban setting. Cat-Ears don't restrict hearing while others I've tried do." - Adventure Cycling Association. Our materials have been tested for effectiveness / transparency at Antioch University. *Wind Noise is a complex phenomenon spanning aerodynamics, acoustics, and the physiology of human hearing. The amount experienced depends on factors like: 1) speed, 2) riding position, 3) head shape, 4) turbulence, and so on. With Cat-Ears, wind noise levels are reduced by 14-16 dBA between 20 and 20k Hz. This is a reduction in sound pressure level of ~80%. But microphones and ears behave differently. And while the amount of perceived wind noise reduction can vary, we stand behind our products as the most effective devices of their kind on the market."As advertised, Cat-Ears significantly reduce wind noise. We found it easier to hear traffic and carry on conversations with riding friends." - Road Bike ReviewCat-Ears are proven to be >25% more effective than sound obscuring 'wind blocks'.NOTE: Please follow the attachment instructions. Finally some wind reduction
Too hot for regular riding earmuffs so these work amazing for summer time. They don’t look super great, even with the thin ones, but man it’s nice to have such a significant decrease in wind.

They work
I was pleasantly surprised by how well these "cat ears" wind noise reducers work on my bike helmet. While they don’t eliminate wind noise completely, they make a noticeable difference—especially at higher speeds. Conversations and surrounding sounds are much clearer now, which adds to both comfort and safety. Considering the low cost, they’re a smart, worthwhile upgrade for any regular rider.

It's not magic but it is a significant improvement
I have hearing loss which makes it hard to discern conversation above the wind noise. These Cat Ears do quite a bit to reduce but not quite eliminate it. I can tell how effective they are because if I'm tilting my head straight down while riding, the cat ears are below and not in front of my ears and the wind noise is greatly increased. But when I have my head in a normal riding orientation, the wind noise is almost gone.

It just works
The reviews seem ambivalent but these are working for me. This is the ear fairing I imagined I was going to need to invent before discovering that they are already on the market. They mounted easily and they do significantly reduce booming and wideband noise. I will note that it makes a significant difference whether your head is pointed right into the wind or just off, and it makes a difference whether your head is pointed up or down too much, but for my riding posture these work with my natural head position.

Save your money
Don't work and look dorky.

Exactly what I hoped for
Anyone who says these don't work has installed them incorrectly and they are NOT difficult to install. I even saw pics in some reviews of incorrect installs.Do they completely remove wind noise? No, but the reduction is dramatic.I listened to a podcast, hit a max speed of 27mph in to the wind (downhill), and did not miss a word of the podcast. If I look straight down the wind gets over the cat ears but when I'm looking forward there's no issue. Made sure to wear glasses over the helmet strap and situate the cat ears at the temples. Also, a lot of people wear their helmet straps loose below their chins. I snugged mine up so the strap stayed in contact with the side of my face.I wish I didn't wait so long to get a pair of these.
