BlackBerry 1230 mAh J-M1 Battery for 9900/9930

I needed a spare battery for my BB Bold for days away from home and work when charging may be difficult to achieve -so I bought this. The first thing to say is that on first use (after I had left it on charge for some 12 hours and only until it was completely charged up) it performed better than the battery that came with my Bold -and has continued to do so! It has at least 30 per cent charge left by the time I go to bed, when the other battery (now my spare) was needing a recharge before I left work.I suspect this is partly a function of the battery being very well charged initially (though this doesn't appear to be a requirement for Li Ion batteries as far as I can tell) and also the way I now use my BB. However it does at least mean that at worst, this battery is a good replacement, and at best, it may be better than the original. It's odd to discover this, as I can't see any differences between this and the original battery.There are other batteries out there that are the same size but purport to carry twice the charge. They also need some kind of code putting in via a gadget, and I have to say I was highly suspicious of them, even though i was very tempted to try a battery that claimed to have double the charge capacity of the standard Bold battery, for the same size (there are bigger ones but I didnt want a bigger battery). I decided I could live with changing my battery over and have been very happy with this battery since it arrived -and have not yet had to change it for the old one.I bought the charger Flash Superstore Desktop Battery Charging Stand with Data Cable Suitable for Blackberry 9900 Bold, 9790 Bold, 9380 Curve, 9850 Torch and 9860 Torch ( JM-1 Battery Compatible ) which has done a good job and can act as a protective case once charging is done.Highly recommended.AA

After having a problem with my new blackberry draining it's battery very quickly (couple of hours), I decided to buy a new battery rather than send my phone off to blackberry(and be phoneless)for a few weeks. I bought this battery and now the battery life is much improved. Still think blackberry need to improve battery life though!So happy with this product. Price was OK and it arrived speedily.

A day of intensive use of my Bold 9900 sees the battery pack up before the day is over, so having a spare battery is a convenient way of making sure that even if you're out and about away from charging points you can make your phone last the day.The battery is in fact so small and light that I keep a spare in my bag permanently. That means it can be sometimes months before it gets used and it's always got a full charge when used. That's rather better than some rechargeable batteries which don't hold their charge that long.It's a cheap way to buy a lot of extra convenience.

To say this was a waste of £3 would be an unbelievable understatement. Who knew something so cheap could leave you feeling robbed? It is laughable that this can be called a genuine battery. After close inspection it is clear this is a medioca replication. I would reccomend that not only do you not buy this but run as far away as possible. In this instance it is hard to say that you get what you pay for. Pay more for better quality !

Well I bought this battery a few months ago because my original battery was going down really fast and it only just lasted a day with my Internet off for the majority of the day. And now I'm using this battery, it's not that much better than my original one. I take it off charge and I have 100% and then 5 minutes later I've already got 98% and I haven't even touched my phone. What's going on? It goes down so quickly. Honestly, it's not even worth buying sorry to say. The battery runs down so fast, it's not great when you're going to be using your phone for research and other things through out the day and then say if there's an emergency and my phone dies. Great. And people can't get hold of you, that's not good. And I'm not one of those people that carries their phone charger around with them. I've never needed to carry one round with me before, and I don't want to start now.

If like me you find the battery life of your Blackberry Bold 9900 laughably terrible, then I really recommend buying a couple of these to carry around with you. They came in really handy on my recent holiday.I had been secretly hoping that my original phone battery was faulty, explaining how quickly it dies, but unfortuantely these have exactly the same life span. I can't faulty this product for that, it must be down to the phone design.

Original battery had degraded after a year of use. This like for like replacement is certainly an improvement, but can't tell yet how long it will last. Choosing a 'genuine Blackberry' rather than a third party alternative seemed to be the best option available in this case.
