Grew up Loving this TV show. Good hearty laughter!
I Love this TV show. I chose to go with individual season, as a apposed to the full box set series. The only reason why I give it a 4 star as apposed to 5, is that the price was a little steep, but it was worth getting it. I purchased the full box set series of this show, and chose to give it to my friend as a gift. Besides, I know better next time when I purchase a TV set, to get individual seasons, works out better for me that way, and I find it is somewhat cheaper at times. Anyways, I love this show, and will enjoy for years to come. Thanks Amazon for having the individual seasons available to own.

Fun show!
This is the final season of Jeannie. The hijinx continue and the spark is still there for this season. And Tony comes to his senses and marries Jeannie. Although Tony and Roger are still the same characters, Jeannie actually continues her metamorphosis. By the third season (as I wrote in a review), Jeannie is no longer a secret character, but becomes a player in many scenes with other characters. In this season, she's in many more scenes as a major player, and dons her jeannie outfit just to remind us that she is a jeannie (a word of warning--Barbara Eden as a platinum blonde is absolutely gorgeous and seeing her in the attire of the times--mini skirts--could be dangerous for young males). Jeannie has even bought into Tony's fear of having anyone discover their secret. At the wedding scene, she seems more afraid of discovery than Tony.Well, this was the final season. Could it have gone on any longer? Well, maybe. The writers probably could have come up with other inane storylines, but now that Tony and Jeannie are married, they certainly would have had children. Comparisons with Bewitched would have become more acute. We were given a glimpse of what the show would have developed into in an earlier season when Tony wonders whether their kids would be normal or jeannies. They're jeannies, of course. It was nothing but Jeannie running around chasing her bratty kids. Thank goodness we were mercifully spared such nonsense. No, it was probably a good time for the show to end.One final thought on I Dream of Jeannie. Is there any value to this show, besides the simple entertainment value? Well, yes. Maybe it gives the viewer cause to reflect on is own nature. Tony is so unbelievably restrained in what he asks Jeannie to do. But the few times when Roger controls her, he sets himself up better than the Shah of Iran and he always suggests that he and/or Tony get the pleasures of the world beyond their wildest dreams. The question is "what would you do--show restraint and wisdom or become a selfish, unbridled hedonist?"

The Ultimate Cancer Cure!
Jeannie is simply the most adorable (and the most beautiful) 2000 year old genie who ever walked the planet! Somehow, I missed her when she was doing her thing on TV back in the '60s, but I caught up while recovering from cancer three years ago, and I do believe that Jeannie helped pull me through! Now, I stay healthy by watching an episode every night while drinking my soursop tea. She also inspired my romance novel "Eustacia's Secret: A Love Story" (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EBXUREG). Life without Jeannie would be unthinkable!

Great value for the price to watch Jeannie!
I enjoy watching reruns from some of the TV shows from many years ago. Some TV shows from yesteryear are much better than some of the ones made today. "I Dream of Jeannie" has always been one of my favorite comedies. It doesn't hurt that Barbara Eden played Jeannie. She was smokin' hot and incredibly sexy in her little Jeannie outfit so men love watching her, but the show was tastefully made so that it is pleasant for women and children to watch. When I saw that Amazon had the entire series, I purchased all five seasons. Even though I have not had the time to watch every episode, I have watched at least two episode of every season. Even though they are not as high resolution as Blu-rays are today and considering that most of these episodes originally aired in the late 1960s, they are remarkably sharp. I'm glad I purchased the B&W first season because I wanted them as they are were originally made. The colors in the Seasons 2-5 discs are well saturated, but might be off just a touch. After watching several episodes throughout the entire series, I believe they are the same as I have always seen on reruns without any edits. I have not noticed any differences. Since I know what these are like and if I didn't already own these, I would buy the entire series from Amazon. They are a great value for the price.

It may be thend...But in truth it's only the begining.....
This great series may have only lasted 5 seasons, but thanks to Sony who had the insight to relase all 5 seasons and not keep the fans at bay by not releseing all seasons. The Wedding of Jeannie and Tony and up to the very last show that featured Cusion tonys Texas chili by far had some of the best hi-jinks in the series run. I agree their wasnt enough of the Evil Twin Sister, and the rest of Jeannies Family ( Where was gin gin? ) But all in all to own all classic 5 seasons is a treat I know, I for one is going to purchase this set when it does come out. In fact one famous Trivia question has always been "where did Jeannie and Tony spend their Honeymoon? **Buy this set and you will know the answer. ** :o)

5 years of crazy plots with our favorite genie!
Well... after what seems like hundreds of adventures where Jeannie tries her damnedest to please Major Nelson (the stick in the mud) she finally gets her wish and they are married. So many more things could have been done with the final season, but we still love the characters and the silly stories overall. I was a child in the 60s and loved Barbara Eden as well as Elizabeth Montgomery so I truly enjoyed anything they could do to use their magic… Contrary to those who wished differently… Ha ha ha

Love Slave
During the '60s, television entertained us with the silliest sitcoms, lacking any socially redeeming value whatsoever. The week began with Goldie in LAUGH-IN, followed by Barabara Eden's I DREAM OF JEANNIE, Elizabeth Montgomery in BEWITCHED, Eva Gabor in GREEN ACRES, and bodacious Barbara Feldon in GET SMART, closing with F TROOP on Saturday night. I don't know why anybody else looked at these fluffs; Monday through Friday, I was in love with the leading ladies. None were so vivacious, bubbly, captivating, and sexy as JEANNIE.Astronaut Major Tony Nelson crash lands on a desert island to find a bottle holding a genie captive for millenia. Once released, she falls in love with her "Master", eager to grant his every wish by crossing her arms and blinking. JEANNIE is everyman's fantasy of a magical love slave. Seriously challenged for androgens, the Major, (Mary Martin's son Larry Hagman who went on to greater stardom in DALLAS) doesn't want a voluptuous love slave or a gift nightmare. And so the show proceeded for 5 years, with JEANNIE screwing up Nelson's life with her unwanted and malaprop miracles that keep Colonel Bellows, played by Hayden Roarke, continually befuddled; "I saw it with my own eyes." Until Jeannie finally marries her Master in the last season.A vacuous treat for people who dream of fairy-tale nonsense. Or dream of Barbara Eden.Ms. Eden's (nee Huffman) considerable thespian talents, drive for stardom, and enchanting mezzo soprano voice failed to raise her above pretty girl bit parts in frothy comedies. After her breakout role as JEANNIE, she made another hit as the irrepressible housewife in THE HARPER VALLEY PTA, followed by singing gigs in Las Vegas. Shaken by the tragedy of her son ODing on recreational drugs, and still a beauty in the face of 60 years, she tried a come that never made it back, as a psychic sleuth on a TV series that died in its first season. Most stories need a half-dozen main roles for character interest; count 'em in MASH, CHEERS, and STAR TREK. The silly sitcoms lug on 3 or 4 stock roles. Their humour is beaten out of the lies the protagonists tell to avoid embarrassing truths, and the penalties for prevaricating, a redeeming social value never noticed.

Full of Laughs
I have really enjoyed the ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ television series since I was young. I already had the first four seasons of this show when I bought the fifth season. The fifth season didn’t disappoint & was full of laughs as much as the first four seasons.

Being a movie collector I am very fussy which I order usually from seeing previews. I enjoy watching the many hours of entertainment.

Good way to end
Finally they get married. They picked a good way to end this show on a high not instead of dragging out another season
