Tetra 246911 Active Aquarium Substrate 6 L

Tetra substrate fixed clowdy water problem for my aquarium. I placed substrate as the lower level, added one more layer of pond substrate, covered with stones. Plants love it, water cleared in couple days. Also added good bacteria gel into filter, all worked well for plants and fish are happy.

Decent value substrate. The plants in my smaller tanks are growing nicely with it. The bag lasts ages for nanotanks.

Working on a larger project and didnt wanna spend a fortune on fluval stuff again which costs more for less.Its a good soil mixed with clay and chipped. You cant use it as is, plants refuse to stay in it due to how loose it is and needs a sand top (i used some lava rocks) otherwise they will just lift and float out eventually if your using rooters.It is a dirty soil and needs a good rinse but overall its encouraged new growth in plants within a week or so of planting so it should serve well.Really have to emphasize digging through it once laid out and water is added because of the nature of it, you will get bubbles trapped inside and long term can cause problems with your fish.

Still thriving after a long time. Nice chunky substrate, cloudy but easily rinsed, some floating pieces but not a problem. Nice rich colour and provided my plants with nutrients they needed. Not too heavy as I only bought small amount. Easy to use as instructions were basic and loaded into my tank after washing. My fish filter all day long living the larger sized pieces. I have medium to large fish and they love it. Great x

Bought this as my plants were dying in the aquarium, so far so good.Update/ plants are growing like crazy, never had plants grow so much .

Wash thoroughly before use. I used a flour sieve. One pack was enough for my 120l Jewel aquarium. I used a thin layer of natural gravel over the top as i found the substrate quite dark in colour.
